New Bern is one of the areas that I am considering moving to. What are the fishing opportunities? Have a 19β7β center console.
Going to be staying in Hatteras next week. Several teens and pre teens in the group. Thinking about charter in the sound to introduce them to catching fish. I know this is kind of slow time of the year for catching, but would like recommendation for charter captain who could put us on some fish.
Thanks. Just a 20β cc. Donβt do long runs. Mostly near shore and bays.
Considering relocating to Southport. Have a boat and love to fish. Locals who are familiar w/ the area please PM me with you opinion on both.
Thx for the feed back. How are the no-see-ums? We encountered a few on a stopover there. Read a bit about them. Sounds like a common local pest. would drive my wife nuts. me, not as much.
Would appreciate a PM from anyone familiar with the area. It is on our short list of places to relocate. Would like to hear about the area. Weather conditions, fishing opportunities( looks like a lot), etc,
That boat is too clean for real fishing. Probably photoshopped! π³
Thanks guys. Looks like a pretty good blow early in the week. Glad there are options.
Heading to Tavernier (Fl Keys) next week. Hauling my 20β Sea Fox CC. First time so will be relying on Top Spot map for Upper Keys. Any tips would be appreciated. Anybody know what is best target this time of the year?
Wow. Great info. Thanks. Great links as well.
I am finally going to spring for prescription polarized sunglasses for fishing. I want to be able to read my fish finder using them. What color lens will give me the best visibility. The dudes and dudettes at the eye wear shop haven't been very helpful.
Was in a bait shop in Hatteras, NC a couple of years ago. Some locals were there tossing down some long necks and a guy brought in some skate bites that had been breaded and deep fried. Tasted great. Texture a little like scallop but different taste. He said they punched plugs out of the wings.
Save the pots for next summer. Might be a straggler left. But they are gone for the most part.
I would like to start fishing the Chesapeake Bay. Cambridge MD looks like the best place for me to launch. Any tips for likely places to start looking for fish.
The solution to any problem is FISHING! Money, love, job, health, whatever. The bigger the problem, the longer the fishing trip. God speed !
