Good one Plumbob. I got all but #16. We used to roller skate to Don McLean’s classic a lot. My goal was to remain upright the entire song because it was so long. Lol

I had Charlotte cattle to start with then I got a Red Angus bull so that's where the red is coming from, and as far as the predator after a baby calf you just do what you got do 😂 here's a picture of the Red Angus

I have a buddy who has registered Red Angus. He bought a Charolais bull to produce some crossbred cattle for his feedlot and they have worked out well for him. I call them his “pink cattle “. Coyotes and buzzards are a problem here in NC as well.

Beagle or Basset Hound?

Those ears belong to a Basset Hound. We used to have bottle cap movies on Saturday morning. Three bottle caps from Pepsi product soft drinks got you in to see a Jerry Lewis movie and a western. Laurel and Hardy and the Three Stooges were big too. Good times

Out on the water about 0600 hrs. Had a blast for about an hour. Then suddenly they went away. Tried to track them but it was a hit and miss. I see early mornings are the go to. The water has calm down as well as the temperature in the water.

That’s a good looking mess of fish there Troy. Congrats on your early morning success.

Heading to Cape Lookout this week. Any reports on conditions, fishing, bait, etc?

The “holes” certainly change, but locate the weather station north of the lighthouse. Head straight out to the surf from there and see if there is a honey hole right there. Good luck and send pictures.

If you ever go to Oriental, take 30 minutes and run over to Squidders Bait andTackle in Vandemere. It’s a small but well stocked little shop with a wealth of local intel. Plus there’s a really nice free boat ramp there.

Very nice bull RT.

I am headed out to Eastern Washington for 3 weeks of fishing next Sunday. I have not had a real break since my wifes stroke in February, a summer breakdown of the motorhome and boat, followed by My wife and I both getting knocked out for a month with covid. My wife is driving again and has her friend staying with her, so I am headed out to clear my head.
If the final prep is a hint of what is to come, I will come home a new man.
I thought I would make a test run with the boat locally before heading out. I took my daughter crabbing Friday. We were on the water from 1:15 to 6:00 p.m. The photos speak for themselves.

[quote=CamT]Here's a post on the tpwd app called OA for Outdoor Annual. It's a good app as you can check all rules anytime 😊[/quote

Here are 2–46 inchers caught 2 weeks ago by a friend of mine and his wife when they doubled up. They caught them out of a school of bulls working a menhaden bait ball. There were 3 boats in the same spot. Everybody caught fish but the bite shut down in about 5 minutes. Didn’t last long but it was intense briefly. This was on a charter out of little Washington, NC, where the Neuse River meets the sound

Launched the bost around noon and headed across the lake to check out a cove and point where id found fish before. Threw a worm for a while but there didn't seem to be any activity. My partner showed up so we took the two boats and made the run to a spot I'd never fished before. H a d a few clicks on the fish finder but no takers on the hook. Looked around a bit and found what looked like a nice school of fish. Set out the baits and waited. Didn't take long. Jer got a solid hit and landed a nice 30 inch hybrid. That was the first of 9 that he landed, the biggest being the 30 and the rest all being legal fish that were over 6 pounds. I followed up with a 9.2# hybrid plus 4 others that were between 6 and 8 pounds. We each lost a few, but let me tell you, those hybrids can fight and they dont quit
