Salmon season is not open.
Crab season is not open.
30 degrees at 7:45 AM. Enjoy the view. This is Puget Sound with Olympic mountains taken from Golden Gardens park.
I have enjoyed crabbing in Puget Sound, out of Seattle Washington for several years, and can't help but notice that I am catching fewer legal crabs and the season keeps getting shorter. I have been down to the boat ramp at Shilshoe and for the last few days it has been crowded with native american crabbing boats with all kinds of pots unloading their catch of lots of 7 and 8 inch dungeness crabs. Apparently their season open May 24th and I don't know how many pots they are allowed and how many crab they can harvest. I do know that I have to pay for my license and I am allowed to put in two pots, and can keep up to 5 males dungees over 6 1/4 inches. However, I can't put a pot in until July 1, after most of the crab are gone. What Gives?
I use something like that inside a hoochy (squid). I think its call a skirt?
Hey Jim: Newbe here. I have been fishing for a couple years, mostly for salmon off of Shilshoe, having a great season with lots of coho and pinks, I had to release all Chinook, ( 6 in total) and did lousy at crabbing , just 6 legals, and then they closed us on 8/3. Going out Tuesday A.M. for Coho. Ken
