Hope the weather is decent and the river comes back down, was flooded over the docks 2 weeks ago when we were up there

Yikes! I didn't hear about that!

I was up there in 1999 or 2000 when that had a microburst hit the lake/river near Winneconne/Freemont area, blew all the boats and docks out of the water! They said it wasn't a tornado but man was that powerful.

Did you have any luck fishin tho?

Nice, Headed up to the wolf at Winneconne myself the 18th! Hope the walleye are still in by then, I heard they are heating up now and the weather looks to be warm this week so they should be killin them!

Good luck!

Newton lake is always good this time of year, cooling lake with plenty of big bass, croppie and cats.
Lake Kincaid and Rend lakes should be heating up now.

What were you using for crappie?

Mostly small minnows, but they were biting anything we threw in the water, from big bass lures to plastics, they were hungry!

Those rubber nets are a mess when your lure gets caught in them. Just bought one also and they were a devil to untangle from trouble hooks!

Coho and browns running out of Waukegan harbor, caught 1 5lb brown trout and 8coho between 9am and noon 4/22.
Slow start but they started hitting in a frenzy after 9am.
Saw a lot of guys having success from the pier also.
Weather turned nasty with hail and rain.

Did some fishing on Dale Hollow last week, had 3 days of some smallies and large mouth, beached the boat on a rock (see pic) while we were waiting for a tow off the rock caught a 4lb LM.
Then Saturday hit a nest of croppie, had 20 keepers out of 30 caught and could have kept going had not my 84 yr old mom not have to use the bathroom…. She realed one croppie in herself so it made her day!
1st time there, it’s a beautiful place!

Good eatin!

Thanks, yeah we were at a warm water discharge from a steel mill, the water temp was 43-45degrees in the break wall and 38-39 outside the break wall. That being said we did catch 2 in the colder water the other 4 were inside the break.

Got on Lake Michigan at Hammond Harbor about 3pm, a bit chilly but had some luck trolling for coho, 6 actually in 3 hours but could have caught more had we not had 2 on at the same time and made a tangled mess… took about 30 min to untangle and they stopped hitting after that. Actually had a nice size smally hit the lure around the turn by the break wall. Wind picked up towards dusk, brrrr

Thanks again fishyaker!

Had a guy I met up in WI on lake Camelot in Rome fall through the ice last Saturday and passed. I met him a few times while up there nice guy, 66 years old, freak accident on a narrow pass between an island and shore where the current wore the ice thin. God rest his soul. Be safe out there and don't take any chances.

Look forward to posting in the future on this forum.

Tom
