Welcome to the forum chuck I am also 1958 model. Wish I had a need for that yellow stringer .Tight lines

Hey young whippersnapper! 1944 model here. Big year in 2024. Wife and I celebrate 60 years on June 28th. Counting the dating thru highschool and junior college she's been training me 66 years. Either I'm a tough case or she's a very poor trainer.lol The big 80 in November kinda scares me but we're doing fine so we'll keep on keeping on. Enjoy you stagers. Good people all. Nice weather here in western Colorado but predicting a freeze tomorrow. Not good for the fruit trees. Hope the peach crop survives.

I remember all of these Mike, especially the burn from the slides. We added a little sand for extra speed, added abrasion to the burn. 😆

We used waxed paper. Fast!

Hey neighbor! Have a Happy Birthday buddy! Enjoy your posts even though I don't always chime in. Had a busy weekend with a big yard sale at sons house. Tired and sore but thinned out some stuff. My son says that is the last one, but he said that the last time too.lol enjoy your day old friend.

Well, now you have some peace and quite for a change! Enjoy it while it lasts.

Well guys, I wanted to give y'all another update on my Mom.
She's doin better since I've gotten here and hopefully things will continue to improve.
Today was my Dad's birthday and he would have been 99.
I ask Mom if she knew what today was and when I told her the date, she said "Daddy's birthday."
So she can still remember certain things very well.
I took my BIL out to the farm yesterday and let him look over everything. Had a very good time.
On our way back through Ralls, one of the little towns we grew up in outside Lubbock, I took a couple of pics.
They were of the Main street and the town square area.
Things haven't changed alot, maybe a little more deserted than 60+ years ago. I think that might have been rush hour. There are 3 parked cars visible in the pics but just our vehicle drivin through town.
But I wanted to give y'all a look at how things were where I grew up in Texas.
The brick streets say alot. Don't know when they were laid but they've held up for ALOT of years without need of repair. More than we can say for asphalt.
I'll try to post again in a couple days. I'll try to get a pic of the countryside to show the farmland and how FLAT the Texas plains are. You can see a lightbulb burnin for over 60 miles. REALLY !
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. They've worked wonders and are appreciated. Steve.

Great news, Steve. Glad you are getting to renew old memories. My home town of Neodesha, Ks had lots of brick streets also. They were SLICK in rain and snow! Tell your mom the whole stage is praying for y'all!

Good morning Graywulff and Doug and all. Your comments here this morning reminded me of a song from long ago that said "slow down and know that I am God " by Chuck Girard. I apologize to any who may be offended but I have had to be reminded to slow down many times in my life.

Great reminder, Joel. And thanks to Mike for the jump start!

Hey everyone. Got to Texas yesterday and went in to see my Mom and surprised her while she was eatin dinner. She knew I was comin here but she didn't know I was here yet.
The look on her face was priceless. You're really here... You're finally here. Look.
I'm SO blessed to still have her here. Even though I know how she must feel that she's just tired of bein here and she would really like for the Lord to call her home.
It will happen at her appointed time as it will for all of us.
Until then, I'll treasure every day I have to spend with her.
I'll be leavin shortly to go have lunch with her. Later guys.

It is that easy 👍
Now if we could change the mindset of what's becoming a selfish nation.

Bring back the ability to actually have a face to face conversation when possible.
Not sit in the same room n text or email 🤔.

Ain't that the truth!
