Irons fork has good fishing very little pressure straight out from the boat ramp is a flat about 8’ deep the channel and blue cats will move in there around April there are several grass beds on the shallow side of the lake towards the creek the crappie will be there as the water warms they are most likely towards the dam right now the lake is 35 to 40 feet from the point back to the dam but it is a hidden gem that a lot of people don’t know about lake Wilhelmina is also pretty good the other side of mena

Thank you. First I've heard of Lake Hinkle. I'll check it out.

Irons fork is not a bad place and is close to mena just a little off 71 my wife likes to go with me there to watch the eagles not a big lake but lots of catfish and crappie most of the time you will have it to yourself or just one or two boats has a good ramp on it

Thank you Gorden. Those are some nice catches. I have fished many years for catfish in lake conroe, North of Houston. I live in Mena AR now and really want to find a good place for crappie close by. I won't turn down catching catfish though. I'll probably have a line or two out while crappie fishing. Looks like DeGray lake is about 2 hours, so I might have to give it a try.

Try lake hinkle in Waldron about 20 miles north of you I am doing real good right now they are about 30 foot deep
