Hey 2N, I made it out Saturday and got skunked. Water level was low and clear and hoping for some significant rain soon. They say steelhead is the fish of a thousand casts and I must have exceeded that and zilch. But I did see a herd of elk and a flock of wild turkeys so the day wasn't a total bust. After getting some wife projects done looking forward getting back out to the river. Tight lines stagers.

Hey fellow fishers, has anybody fished the Alsea River or the Big Elk for steelhead. Haven't been able to make it there yet but will try soon. Just looking for any kind of report to get the juices flowing. Thanks for all that reply.

Has anybody tried fishing for steelhead on the Alsea River or Big Elk lately? From what I've read the Alsea and Hwy 34 got hit hard from the latest storm with a lot of downed trees. I know the water conditions are not the best right now but just looking to if worth trying. I went up to Green Peter and Quartzville creek last week to try trout fishing but you needed an elevator to get down to the water. Luckily a buddy called and was heading out to his property to shoot .22's so that took the sting off of no fishing that day. Thanks for any info.

howdy fellow fishers, my name is Glenn and I live in Albany Or. Am looking to do more steelhead fishing and to seek info on how the local rivers are doing mainly the Alsea and Big Elk Rivers. I'm not hardcore just need to get out of the house now and then to the let the wife work in peace and quiet. I type slow and am computer illiterate so some of my responses will be slow.
