Congratulations
Nothing more wonderful than grandchildren.
My first is 16 months old, and I can’t get enough of her.

I fish Lake George once a year on vacation, but for bass. I know salmon are caught pretty deep. Are you using your own boat?

About $4.89 now around here. Costco is always about 15 cents cheaper. A buck more one the water. It used to cost me about $35 for days fishing. Its now $60.

John I understand your grief brother. It's been over 5yrs since my daughter passed. The worse fear of a parent😪. In time it eases but the memories are always there as they should be. Enjoy your trip he'll be with you brother. I got plenty of support from my brothers n sisters here. FS has become so much more than just fishing. 👍👍

Grizzly,
Condolences on your loss. We go to a monthly support group specifically for parents who lost children. It’s been comforting for me.Those folks are the only ones who understand what you go through.
Some lost children 10+ years ago and still attend. It’s a life changing event as you know quite well.
Kind regards.

Have you tried keeping sea robin yet? Many people, including myself are keeping them now. I’ll keep the large ones and get two nice fillets. They are no longer considered a bycatch trash fish. The Fisherman magazine has added them too their annual Steiger Craft contest. They might be ugly, but they are tasty.

Winds are btwn 15-20mph so we had to cancel. I’ll be spending the afternoon with my daughter and 15 month old granddaughter, who had been my salvation through all of this.
I’m holding up health wise. Now on an “oral chemo pill”. So far limited side affects. I hope to get out next Sunday with my son in law. He was really looking forward to it. We both were.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I wear a small silver cross that has his fingerprint. I’ll be touching that out on the water. I boat fish once a week. Each time I go out I visualize him on the bow, casting to the school’s of bluefish we’d hit on occasion. He loved fishing and hitting the blues when they schooled up.

My son in law invited me to go out tomorrow morning with his father on their boat. Winds are forecasted to be 10-15mph. That’ll make a quick drift for sure. The two of the own a swimming pool maintenance company And he works 6 days a week this time of year. It might not be the best fishing but it’s his first opportunity to get out on the water this season. We’re planning an early start so we can get back to enjoy fathers day with my daughter and granddaughter. It will be very difficult for us because our son passed the end of January. I’ve been struggling all week over this year’s holiday but I can’t just sit home.

No baitfish, plenty of weed depending on where I went. That kyak guy told me he caught a keeper!

Went out again today. Fishing was lousy. A few fluke, largest about 15”. No keepers. Very windy, creating one of the wind against tide nightmares. No one was catching. Not the best day but as always it was great being out on the water.
