try pulling cranks 20 to 35' using snap weights in the finnley flats area.using bait also works but you will spend alot of time dealing with perch .

Looking forward to it, thank you.

I would second the recommendation for the fort Peck Marina.

I have no affiliation at all, just had this information on my OnX tab.

Coming back from North Dakota my wife and I did a pre-scouting stop here. Didn’t have the boat or I might’ve stayed a couple days.
We missed this spring, but next spring we’re hoping to get over there with the boat.
Scott, I believe is the owner of the Marina was very helpful. He’s one of the local guides. He suggested we go out for a day with him. Learn the ropes so to speak and finish up the week on our boat. Makes good sense, I’ve never had my boat on the water there.
Hired a guide out of Hell Creek, I think it was a few years ago, but I wasn’t pay attention. We were too busy catching fish lol

Looking forward to hitting the water soon at LMR. Anybody been out there yet? Been kind of a weird season this year but I’m hoping the Kokanee are healthy and hungry.
Any reports, locations, techniques, etc.?

I am envious. I’m taking the boat out next Monday. Looking forward to it.
Just curious, did you do any fishing while you’re in Scotland? I spent some time there in the mid-70s, work related, no fishing sadly.
I recall it being a slower pace and just relaxed friendly communities. I’d like to revisit but my concern is that it may have changed so much it would shatter my memories. Anyhow, beautiful country, both Scotland and Montana. 👍👍

May 1, the ice is off. According to the guy at the boat check station at the Clearwater Junction, there was a freeze off and killed a lot of the larger fish. Heading there soon to check it out. 😀

That is also my guess, Brook Trout. I remember Grandpa saying… got a couple little brookies for the pan. One time he fried some up on an old railroad plate we found on the track next to a tributary to the Blackfoot River. Maybe I shouldn’t go on in here.

Hello, welcome aboard.
I saw South Padre and had to say hi. What a beautiful place. Took my family there one spring/summer, in another lifetime. These “Mountian people” were stunned! We never fished, but doing a charter on the gulf would be something else. J.D.

Never been there. I’ll have to look into it.
To be honest I’ve never caught a Grayling. Never too late, well unless your dead I suppose.

So I go fishin with my kid last year and he pulls this reel out with a line counter. I’m still kind of old school. I count lengths by several different methods. Anyhow, I was pretty impressed with the accuracy he was able to attain. I asked him where he got it and he got it at a garage sale for $15.00. This is the reel he bought. I really liked it so I got online and bought one for myself…I didn’t get that good of a deal. It is a dandy, though!

The nurse wishes to confirm my birthday. She says, blank, blank, blank, 1955? I confirm it. She says, “perfect”. I say, “ well I used to think so too, but it seems awfully old now“.
