I went to Woods Canyon on Wednesday and fished from the shore and it was slow.

Big Lake for sure and I believe Willow Springs too. The trout bite is good at both right now if you didn't see my post from last week?

Made a stop at Woods Canyon on my way home, got 8 trout in 2 hours. Half of them were nicer models and all got on worms off the bottom and under a bobber. Bite died off as the morning warmed up but that was fine by me. Get up there and get some, the earlier the better from what I could tell. There was one guy leaving at 7 am with his limit.! All my fish were released or gifted to my fellow fisherman that weren't as lucky!

Thank you! Going to Woods Canyon on Wednesday on my way home. I have gotten few nice ones there too. I seem to be getting fewer of the smaller ones using the worms. Bigger bait Bigger fish!!

Fished Big Lake this morning and got a couple nice ones. Got windy later in the morning but still doable. With any luck I will try to include my photos! Fished the dam area with night crawlers.

I hooked one on a nightcrawler from the shore last week that took off for the center of the lake and almost spooled me. I broke the leader on it trying to pull it up on the rocks, yep I forgot my net that day. That fish was at least 24" or bigger. I have caught few that were in the 16" to 18" range already too! Maybe the stocked a few jumbos in there or they got big over the long winter.

You won't need a parking permit if you are just there to fish. It is going to be crowded for the holiday weekend so I would plan on getting there early. I have done well trolling spinners and spoons from a boat and power bait and nightcrawlers work good there if you want to fish with bait. The guys at the boat dock can probably give you a fishing report too. Good luck!!!

Fished Willow Springs today, not much luck on the east side but ended up catching 4 by the boat ramp. Broke line on a really nice one. All fish were on nightcrawlers from the shore and released to play another day! One of the fish had a 3" piece of a rubber worm in its throat, that's a new one for me!!
