Sweet what a great bonus fish. That rod's a keeper.
And works great for the manasquan no see ems.
Thermacell 25 dollars I use it for deer hunting. Turn ut on and no mosquitos. Puts down a barrier of 15 feet. Won't fish or hunt without it in the warm weather. In your case George you hang it off your hip and your set. Thing is absolute magic. And it's scentless.
Love Cliffwood in the spring with worms for bass. Also like to flyfish there for blues and bass
Only on low tide with the bombers. I was fishing my daiwa 4500 with 30 pound braid. I casted completely across the canal and 1/3 of the way across the inlet.
Just casting and slow reeling at low tide and jigging motion at high.
Just white 1/2 or 3/4 oz with 5 inch white rubber twister tails.
I have 50 pound braid on mine. I put some backing first. Just some for filler.
Had them all day there too yesterday in the rain. A mix of sizes from 2 to 8 pounds bucktail with twistertails for me. Point pleasant canal was good too. Alot of fun. Fished island beach today. Zero
Fishing the back bays of wildwood in the kayak this weekend. We will see.
Yes just like the wiped the herring from the Delaware river. Commercial trucks for the bait and tackle ships with 500 gallon ranks in the back of the pickup trucks waiting for boats to drop them off. And guys with cages in the bay and river. All the herring liveliness wiped em out. They could just catch what they needed caught them in mass. Brutal. Now it's illegal to target herring.
