Hi Terry! I fish the Northern California coast around Ferndale and up. Really don’t know much about the Oregon coast fishing but I can’t believe it’s very much different from Northern CA. I’m kinda new at it (only been doing it 4 or 5 years. I’d say anywhere you can get down to the water should work!! Good luck!! And tight lines
Great catching!!! So happy to see Shasta back up. Thanks for sharing!!
Wow! Looks like a great excursion to me! You two must have had a delicious dinner Dude! Thanks for the pictures. And good times with your brother! That’s nice.

Wet weather today but supposed to dry up by tomorrow. Decent fishing as I got a limit. The bigger fish is about a 17 inches n hard fighting. My first winter trip up here and so far so good 😊
Wow! Good catching PNW! I’ve done pretty good at Baum Lake myself. But it’s been a while.

Castro Valley.
The trout must have grown up since then.
Those sticks they’ve been eating must have growth hormones in them.
How do the fish taste Matt?

8.4lb monster caught today!
Biggest trout I've ever caught!
You caught that beauty out of Lake Chabot? The one in Castro Valley? I had no idea they had fish like that there!
Good catching Matt!!!

If I ever have the free time when they're on a good bite I'd love to meet you there. 🤠👍
That sounds like a great idea!! I’ll keep my ears open. Of course at Shasta something’s always on the bite!!

Only the hatchery fish
I went up there a couple years ago. Great trip! Fished the Coquille first day. Got one up to the boat and he spit the hook. Then got on the Umpqua and got a really nice hatchery fish! Got to take it home. Talk about tasty!

Are y'all settin traps for them?
I know they dive for them too, don't they?
Yes they do dive for them as well. It’s a lot more fun to me to go hunting for them under the rocks!! I used to go on a nice dive trip out of Santa Barbara. Spear fishing and also going for Scallops
[quote=saw1]The markings are definitely not a Lake Trout .
The fins aren't like a Laker either.
The spots are either a Rainbow or Brown.
Difficult to tell from that pic.
When did you catch it?
By the way, welcome to the Stage. 🤠👍[/quote
Yep, Looks like a big Brown to me.
And welcome to the Stage Dave!
Nice catching there Mike!!! And that skillet full of fish looks delicious! I’ve never caught nor tasted Sauger before. I do like mild tasting fish though. Tight lines my friend.
