I understand my friend, I don’t care to try and give info that will help someone boat a few fish either, but I feel there are some that like to read good fishing reports, but don’t want to share any of their knowledge!
Been waiting on some locals to post a report that the Cherokee water temps, were high enough for the shad to start spawning, no luck there, so I drove down taking a chance they were starting to come up, and the water temp was mid 60’s and a few shad were starting to spawn, making for a decent top water bite, we had a fair night, two keeper smallmouth, 5 hybrids and two striper, caught the smallmouth on a Rico, Striper in a jointed sliver, and all hybrids were caught in a jointed rogue lure, why have this fishing site, if us fishermen don’t post updated fishing reports to help others put some fish in the boat,
It’s a 5 hour drive for me to the Neely Henry Dam in Alabama, it’s some of the best white bass fishing I know of, so if any of you guys that live there and fish the area, know when the white bass start being caught there, please post something on here about it and thanks in advance for doing so!
Thanks sir, I’m waiting on the warmer water temps, so the shad start spawning, makes for a great top water bite, if you or anyone reading this, hear about or see the shad up around the banks at night, please post something on here about it, thanks in advance!
Thanks for the reply and info, I googled the water temp last week for Cherokee and it said 49 degrees and it also said as of 5 days ago, do you think the 53 was the current temp, I was hoping to hear from someone that had been on the water in the last day or so!
Does anyone know the water temperature, on Cherokee lake as of 3/23/24 thanks in advance!
The picture shows a yellow bass, they are usually very small around 8 or 10 inches, and have the yellow glow on there belly!

We used Flicker Shad for walleye also and have had some days where drum was the only thing interested. (C & R only). It's days like that when a person has to be glad something was caught. Have you bounced on the bottom with a death hook and crawler? Some days the walleye only like it slow and slower. Keep the line wet for us!
I like trolling for walleye also, I’ve used bottom bouncers with night crawler harness, but never heard the term you used for the hook ( death hook ) what is this?

Hey Jsbar - sure thing, our best day was an early morning on the water by 6:45 and we were beached on Panther Creek State Park directly across from Greenlee Campground, RV and Marine (Rutledge) across on the other side of the lake. Good luck and have fun!
We’re the shad coming up around the shore late at night on Cherokee,
The shad has started coming up here in Ky, went Thursday night on Laurel river lake water temp 61 degrees, a few shad doing their thing, boated 2 good walleyes and a smallmouth.

Might be the place to go. I have never fished in Kentucky. Daughter lives in Prestonsburg, but never wet a line over there.
yes if the shad are surfacing on Cumberland it is some good striper fishing, I was told they are starting to come up on Cumberland, I’m waiting on a calm night, when the wind isn’t blowing to hard, and I’ll give it a shot, it takes me about the same amount of time, to drive to Cherokee or the lower end of Cumberland, I can get to the head water of Cumberland in half hour, but not a good place to fish at night, to many thieves that will rob your truck, so when I fish Cumberland at night I go down near the Dam. but if you ever have any questions about fishing Cumberland, I may be able to share some input on it, I’ve fished that lake for 50 or so years.

Have not been and haven’t heard anything yet.
thanks for the reply, I’ve been crappie fishing myself and haven’t been doing any night fishing yet, but I heard the shad are starting to spawn on lake Cumberland.
Has anyone started catching striper at night on top water at Cherokee lake Tn yet, thought I may give it a shot one night this week, the shad should be coming up by now, any of you guys been yet?
The dogwood trees are white, the sun is bright and beautiful, the wind was from the west at 9 mph, thought I’d target a few white bass on the Rockcastle river here in Ky, the water temperature was only 56 degrees near the rapids where I like to fish for white bass, only caught two white bass the water is still to cold for them to bite good, but ended up with a nice mess of fish, mostly crappie,

I only fish from shore at the moment. I’m to poor for a boat and haven’t bought a kayak yet. Any good fishing spots on Lake Weiss. I live in Centre, AL
Look on google maps, anywhere you can find a bridge that crosses the lake or part of the lake, should be a good place to catch fish right now during the spawn, good luck
