Thanks for the reply and info, I googled the water temp last week for Cherokee and it said 49 degrees and it also said as of 5 days ago, do you think the 53 was the current temp, I was hoping to hear from someone that had been on the water in the last day or so!

I think 53 was current yesterday and probably today. We will be getting rain this week that may cool it a degree or two, who knows. I haven’t talked to anyone that has been on Cherokee in the last month, but TVA usually keeps good records. Would like it if the rain coming was a warm one.

Thanks sir, I’m waiting on the warmer water temps, so the shad start spawning, makes for a great top water bite, if you or anyone reading this, hear about or see the shad up around the banks at night, please post something on here about it, thanks in advance!

Been waiting on some locals to post a report that the Cherokee water temps, were high enough for the shad to start spawning, no luck there, so I drove down taking a chance they were starting to come up, and the water temp was mid 60’s and a few shad were starting to spawn, making for a decent top water bite, we had a fair night, two keeper smallmouth, 5 hybrids and two striper, caught the smallmouth on a Rico, Striper in a jointed sliver, and all hybrids were caught in a jointed rogue lure, why have this fishing site, if us fishermen don’t post updated fishing reports to help others put some fish in the boat,

Nice catch, Waterdog. I would be glad to tell you anything I know about Cherokee. My problem is, I haven’t been on it in at least 3 years. You’re better informed than I am. I intend to make my fishing time more of a priority now. Maybe I will be able to help in the near future.

I understand my friend, I don’t care to try and give info that will help someone boat a few fish either, but I feel there are some that like to read good fishing reports, but don’t want to share any of their knowledge!

Probably so. Different people join for different reasons. Some join for to converse and joke with others. Some join to learn different techniques and theories pertaining to fishing, which I did. I have found I like the jokes that some of these guys throw out there better than most of the other stuff. Each to their own. There seems to be some good people on here that mostly like the social aspects of The Stage.
