Hello neighbor and welcome. I fish cherokee mainly and douglas as well. Are you fishing from a boat or from the bank? With the heat that's been on us I've been going at night or very early morning. I tend to focus on stripers and hybrids. Do run a deep live shad for catfish.

My daughter lives in Gray, she and her BF fish for trout below Wilbur dam with a lot of success. Salmon eggs or minnows seems to work. She can't comprehend a flyrod yet.

Walleye were biting good from Walter's Bridge to Leadvale R.R. bridge. Bite slowed after sunrise.

Heading to Douglas in a couple weeks and trying to get my gear prepped for this area, was wondering what's hitting good now. Don't have a fish finder so trying to get as much info as possible to make for a descent trip.

Gonna head over to Douglas in the morning. Work the headwaters around Leadvale. Take a little break from Cherokee and striper hunting.

Went out around 3am. Bite was real slow. Marked bait everywhere holding around 15ft. Managed to land medium size hybrid free lining live shad near panther creek.

My co worker takes his family on vacation in July every summer. They stay at a lakeside campground on Lake Norris near Knoxville. They have a shoreline site and rent a pontoon.

He did fish when he was younger but has not in quite awhile.

We're curious how fishing is in lake Norris, what species are available, and is it worth it to buy a license to give it a try for a week?

Thanks

TWRA website has pretty good fishing reports for our lakes. I know Norris has decent striper action. Norris is also one of the cleanest lakes in the area.

I mainly focus on stripers and hybrids, have gotten a few smallmouth. Douglas lake is also nearby and I know of quite a few big largemouth and blue cats.
