My co worker takes his family on vacation in July every summer. They stay at a lakeside campground on Lake Norris near Knoxville. They have a shoreline site and rent a pontoon.

He did fish when he was younger but has not in quite awhile.

We're curious how fishing is in lake Norris, what species are available, and is it worth it to buy a license to give it a try for a week?

Thanks

TWRA website has pretty good fishing reports for our lakes. I know Norris has decent striper action. Norris is also one of the cleanest lakes in the area.

When I have fished Norris, I have caught smallmouth, largemouth, catfish, and walleye. I usually see quite a few boats trolling for walleye. I am not set up for walleye, though. I think you could probably target stripers about anywhere on Norris. Extremely clean lake.

I used to live close to Norris . This time of year night time is the right time . Anchor in a creek embayment in about 30 ft of water preferably near a drop off . Put out some lights should be able to catch crappie and walleye. one tip for the walleye is snag alewife on hook with no lead then free line it at the edge of the light.
