Well a couple of uses for mono would be for backing! Haha that’s about all! Actually on certain lure set ups, a millisecond of stretch and you have less chance of ripping the lure out of their mouths...So the pro’s say. The problem with braid, is that you would have to tie a fluro leader constantly. As a shore guy, unbreakable snags are more often shinny gifts for the Lake Gods around here! I call them “underwater Christmas trees”.

I know the post is about line twist...Just saw the mono comment, felt like chiming in. Like I mentioned, I use mono back on both spinner n baitcaster reels, with a fluro main. I’ll condition the line w/ KVD line conditioner, great stuff!! Typical rule of thumb for spooling a spinning reel, feed the line from the bottom, bait caster from the top.
