You have located centrally to numerous Rivers such being great for your size Boat. Neches River and Trinity River also even nearer to you is Village Creek, with Boat ramp under the Bridge on Hwy. 96 South on outskirts of Lumberton between Silsbee.

Indeed is so probably a trillion gallons of fresh water pouring into Lake Sabine over the past 3 weeks. The water levels have dropped significantly and as of yesterday the Causeway Bridge on LA. side is now over a foot shallower than the dock making it much easier to launch there. I'm not certain of salinity level, however, shrimp or moving out of the marshes into the ship channel per report from a friend (Master Fisherman, E J,formerly a shrimper for trade and now a focused Flounder Fisherman going almost every day during the Fall migration.

Keith Lake, a shallow water lake near Sabine Lake on Hwy. 87 near Sabine Pass, Tx and a ramp is located next to a 2 story house, the only structure along the shoreline of the lake. A good many Kayakers put in there.

Identity is mostly small Shad or commonly referred to as Pogy and many replicated in swim baits available in soft plastics. Located locally here in Southeast Texas / Southwest Louisiana! Cameron, LA used to have a Pogy Plant where the fish were churned into mesh as fertilizers and protein foods for animal feed. Immediately upon being caught the pogy dies and rapidly spoils from bacteria. I would not advise as human consumption though I'm no expert on nutrition.

It's still reaching 95 Deg. in mid morning thru late afternoon here on the Gulf Coast. Water temp is nearly 90deg near shor as well. Despite the heat when the current is moving the bait are also. Depending on where on the Lake the flounder are staging the fall run. Can't wait! Teal are migrating into local rice fields. Another bonus of fall coming. Keeping the faith and trust our Lord will block the hurricanes this September! Great Fishing on the way!

Roll Over Pass is decent at times depending on tides moving or not. Shrimp is my fav or if you like wading on the bat side live mudminnows preferred. Spring and Fall are the best! Enjoy!

Pleasure Island is within Port Arthur City Limits and as you reach the top of the Bridge to it you'll see Sabine Lake. At the foot of the Bridge you'll come to a stop turn right and it will lead you to the revetment (Jetty Wall)

I am there with you drewpolk. Obsession it is, but its not always so simple. Winds, currents, temps, bait choices and the list could go on if you wanted to get technical. The anticipation, planning and sometimes the catch makes it all worth it. So let us all know where your fishing, so we can share stories from waters near and far from you.

Yes Sir Plumbob, I fish within a 60 miles radius generally Sabine Pas, TX. and as you probably know on the Louisiana shoreline a extremely lucrative area for my fav Flatfish! Anyone care to chime in also welcome since I'm always seeking tips for this species.

Not an easy fix and since your not going to spend much to fix oh well here goes; strip all the Braid off buy some Stren or Trilene Mono in whatever test your reel is rated for and spool it from the bottom of the new spool it is loaded.

Hi! I'm new to your Blog and wish to say thank you for making it so easy to join. The more simple the better I say. This motto is in most everything I do at least try making it this way. Fishing is almost an obsession for me and I find new ways to accomplish every time I plan a trip. Well enough about me let me read from your experiences.
