I don't know. Silver carp..,,the ones you can't got down the river without one jumping out of the water and slapping you in the face....yeah...,get knocked off your boat by one of them one time....you will definitely take a baseball,bat or a shotgun.
I fish along points and grass lines and rock jettys for flounder..I use bull minnows finger mullet or cut bait...also dropoffs
Could be the type of rod you're using also depending on how hard you set the hook. If you have a pretty stiff rod and you yank hard....you'll miss the fish, or snatch its lips into..
Corn is good for carp also...
Best all out catfish bait is white bass ...bluegill ...or gizzard shad....bow I have seen folks take garlic and coat hot dogs and catch em but all out best bait for catfish would be described above.
None were over 23 inches. But ranged from 16 to 23 all if them. There was a few break offs. Almost certain were larger .but on light tackle it was awesome catching the ones that were caught
They were all red. Some with a brownish red along the back. Pretty positive they were red snapper.

Last week I seen a red fish as long as I am tall in the middle of about 30 more redfish not as big as it.. It was a beautiful experience watching them swim through. Also snapper never have I ever in dauphin island fishing have I ever seen red snapper caught within 4 miles of the island until the other day. Watching folks catch them on light tackle at that. Using croaker heads and live mullet... What a show..
I only take 2. One for live bait or cut bait. And one for artificial....sometimes take a back up or bigger reel in case I want to try for something bigger. But usually only 2.
Alabama salt water.. You have to pay for reef fish endorsement.... And other crap to keep certain fish also it's stupid. What's even more meased up is it's 100 bucks for commercial fishing license.. All these folks go out netting can bring in undersize and unlimited fish. Which puts the recreational laws at larger siEs and lowers the limits... Which I think is bullshit but heck. They do what they want... Anything to make them more money.. It's never about the conservation... If it was then they should hBe equal laws for commercial and be recreational fishermen.
