Any good scents or ingredients to add to them?
Thanks, just what I’m looking for.

Elastic Thread. It will keep bait attached to hook when Fish bite the bait. If bait is not tied to hook the fish can ROB you. Then you reel your line in and the bait is GONE.
Even if you marinate or add other flavors to hot dogs I suggest using elastic thread to make sure the bait can’t be removed from the hook by the fish.
Sharp Hooks catch fish. Dull hook can easily be a way to lose a hook set on ANY fish.
Hook em and EAT em. Good Luck
You also can have several baits ready when you get to fishing location so you just switch out leader instead of doing all the prep work on bank or boat. Fishing with bait in the fishes face is the goal once you arrive at fishing location instead of getting prepared at the water.
I use chunked hot dogs marinated in red kool-aid and anise oil. Before marination, I soak my chunked hot dogs in salt brine to toughen them up.
Best all out catfish bait is white bass ...bluegill ...or gizzard shad....bow I have seen folks take garlic and coat hot dogs and catch em but all out best bait for catfish would be described above.

You want catch carp or catfish? For carp, use a box of Wheaties, yes the cereal, pour wheaties into a bowl and crush the flakes, a little water let soak for a few minutes, and work togather by squeezing with your hands. The mixture should be thick and sticky, if not mix more crushed wheaties in until it thickens up. Be sure that all the wheaties are mixed and not still flaky or it won't stay together. The thicker the mixture the better. Roll into balls the size to cover the hook. You can mix before you go fishing, or after you get there. If you want to mix other scents or flavors in, try it. It works. Keep fishing. DEEJAY q
Corn is good for carp also...
