TPWD fishing report usually gives you an idea of a place to start. Here's past Thursday's--2 varying reports from 2 different captains. May depend on which part of the lake deep vs shallow?

Congratulations Ben! That gal is as long as the bowfin I caught Saturday.
You have my wife beat by a mile, who has me beat by a pound.

How true, Commander. I'll get frustrated with myself (and admittedly, the wind at times), but with others try to practice Christ's admonition to treat them as I'd want to be treated. When others don't do so, best to practice grace and move on. Makes for a much better day. When that stuff happens, I just remind myself to be thankful I'm out on the water enjoying it all. Even the occasional day I get skunked it's never a wasted day.

Nice fishes, Chuck.
Prior trip to Rayburn I got a few nice ones on the underspin Keitech off the edge of the hydrilla wall. Wasn't much of that in the areas we hit this time and we were yakking in the wind, so we largely chased the brush bucks and got a few bonus females.

Yep, hole buzzards and idiot boaters/jetskiers. Seems I've had more instances when in my yak than my bass boat. People that have no respect seem to have less for yaks.
@Texas Womack has the answer to many of these issues...fish at night! (a little riskier for those of us in gator country)

Nice ! Headed to rayburn for 4 days next week . Word on the street is the big girls should start moving up shallow at that time. ……

Another enviable outing for Wo-mack!

Not sure what equipment you're bringing down, Chuck, but the wife and I camped up at Rayburn weekend before last with the yaks. Did really well with weightless senkos/finesse worms in the buckbrush and laydowns 4-6ft and on the grass toward the end. Most of the boaters were working the 6-12ft water. No Bertha's but we snagged quite a few in the 2-4lb range. I planned to go all Texas Womack on them Sunday night fullish moon but the wind was just too high to work where I wanted and so waited for the early morning for it to get manageable. Should be even better next week. Tight lines.

Sweet toad, TW! Congrats.
I need to haul my yak up to the metroplex and hit the graveyard shift with you. Tough sledding on Rayburn yesterday...my bag didn't add up to that gal. But after a month off the water it was great to be back at it.

Niiiice. Around these parts I'd have been afraid I'd hooked a little gator when that one latched on in the dark.

Great story! My bride and I mark 30 years today. I pray I get another 26+ with her. We're headed out on a long road trip with our yaks to celebrate with a week of fishing around Chattanooga.

Hi Banjo. Any suggestions on where we can be opportunistic in a couple weeks when we come to the area? Better boat ramps or other put-ins for yak fishing on the local lakes and creeks.
