This is the first plant I’ve seen out of there this year so I hope it’s an abbynormal plant to get stock in the water and meet the plant schedule
The Nimbus hatchery lost all of their fish last year due to high water temperatures and disease so they only have young fish to plant this year.
Has anyone shore fished at Finnon Resevoir near Placerville?
How much is the day use fee?
The 365 day license doesn't go into effect until 1/1/2023
Where did you catch those nice trout?
Hey Nook, I went out on the New Sea Angler for a combo trip and went home with limits of 10 crabs and 10 rock fish. The boat costs $250+ but you’ll spend more than that for 20 pounds of crab and 20 pounds of fish filets at the store, not to mention the experience of the boat on the ocean.
Can’t help you with shore fishing but I can recommend Lucas Wharf as a good restaurant.
Crab an rock fish out of Bodega Bay
Tell us about the rig you used to catch that striper
I mostly fish the Sierra for trout but take an occasional ocean trip especially combo trips including crab.
I recently took my 5 year old granddaughter to the south fork of the American River where she caught her first trout and many more.
