Looks like the travel was worth the effort and you two had a good outing. Great to see. Thanks for all the updates.

Oh, of course. Got it. Thanks. I guess I just had the Nevada one on my mind after my brother just told me about the ladders. Tight lines.

Nice. Can you say a bit about how to get on Pyramid Lake (permission needed?) and how you fish it (shore or boat)?

My bother lives around there and he told me his has seen people walk out a distance in the lake's shallow water and take a ladder, set it up, and cast from the ladder.

I always thought Browns and Brookies are the prettiest trout. Nice catch.

If Sabrina was frozen over North Lake would have been as well. Thanks so much for the info and good to hear the fishing was good and not too crowded. I'm headed up that way end of next week and will give a report.

Nice catch. One of my favorite spots. Any idea if North Lake (up the road just a bit) is open?

Thanks for the pics! I tried there last year but the water level was so high there was not much shore fishing to be had. Looks like the level is better now. Any advice on spots or bait? I hope to be up that way in a couple weeks.

Nice fish, especially out of a fast flowing river. I did my first trout filet a few weeks ago. I was surprised it went OK!

It was a PB at the time and I would have loved to land the thing but Grandpa was a great kidder and I might have done the same to him if I was in charge of the net. It was actually the last time I fished with him after being on his boat since before I could walk. Nothing but good memories as I'm sure OBG's grandson feels about him.

Yes, I know that (and Grandpa knew that, too) but it was about 30 degrees and my hands were frozen. When I looked into that large mouth full of teeth, the thought of getting jabbed by those teeth made me commit the fisherman's sin of yanking up on the line. So Grandpa won biggest fish of the day.

It don't get much better than that.

Last time I fished for bass with my Grandpa on Lake Mead he refused to use the net to get a 6-7 pounder I was landing in the boat and the thing broke the line when I tried to lift him in. You are a much nicer Grandpa!
