There is a guy on You Tube his show is Kayak Catfish and I am pretty sure he fishes close to your area and he catches some huge catfish . I find that he has a very informative channel. I hope this helps. Jerome Morris

[quote=Bstrong] [/quotes. Those are some really nice fish. I’m glad you had such a successful trip. If you wouldn’t mind sharing could you let me know what part of the lake you were fishing as I will be driving over to fish for them on Friday. It would save me considerable time trying to locate the part of the lake to fish. Thank you in advance for any information you could give me!

Try seven points if you’re fishing for hybrids or rocks. I lived on Percy Priest for about 12years and that was the place to catch striped bass this time of year. Good luck and I’d like to see the pictures if you don’t care.

My advice would be to check twra and subscribe to their lake fishing reports. They have weekly reports on the lakes. Hope this helps a little bit.

Chicken livers are very good for smaller cats, of course there’s always a chance of getting a bigger one but I know from personal experiences that skipjack cut in chunks are amazing on the Stones River below the dam at Percy Priest Lake. The best part about skipjack is they are free and also very fun to catch. Just saying.

Has anyone been fishing the French Broad River lately before it gets to Douglas Lake. If so I would like some advice on where to fish and if the White Bass and walleye are biting as I have never fished there. I would be interested to know what kind of bait to use. Thanks in advance for any help.

I personally like to use skipjack and shad and bluegill also works. The skipjack will also catch stripers, use three or four different colors of crappie jigs for skipjack. Hope this helps if you need any more information or have more questions just let me know .

Well no luck bellow Cherokee Dam. It might have been because the water level was low and fluctuating . Another guy caught two small trout fishing under the bridge. Just thought I’d share.

Never fished below Cherokee dam, but Cherokee lake is full of catfish. I would think they would be hunkered down below the dam waiting on chopped up bait. Easy meal.

Thanks for your input, I think you are right. I’m going to try it tomorrow and see what happens. If I do any good I’ll post a picture of them.

Could anyone please tell me if the skip jacks run below the Cherokee Dam and is it a good place to catfish? I would appreciate any help with this that I could get. Thanks
