There are also schoolies in Stage Harbor with a couple of 30 inch fish caught and released by kayak fishermen. Chatham is the village with the most available housing. That said, consider an Airbnb, it may be less per night.
The stripers are in the bay. Caught three yesterday on a fly rod off a Brewster jetty at high tide.
The last two days of Fishing for tog have been amazing. One day on Cape Cod Bay, and one day on Nantucket sound. Green crabs on 1.5 oz. Tog jigs are the ticket.
Welcome to our fishing site! There are lots of Fisherman on board that can often times give great guidance and advice. In this case, I canβt help you in terms of surf casting/shore fishing at Sandy neck. I do all my surf casting at Nauset beach on the lower Cape. I also fish the bay four days a week out of my 24 foot boat for stripers in the summer and Tautog (tog) in the fall. If you would be so kind, keep me posted on how you do on fluke/flounder during this winter season. I honestly didnβt know we could catch them from shore right now. Tight lines!
Cris, Please resend as I accidentally just cleared all my recent incoming messages. I saw it, but did not recognize it until after I pushed the delete button.
Rainbows being caught today on Herring Pond in your home town of Orleans, MA. Casting float with 5 feet of 4 pound leader and a medium wooly worm fly. Use a VERY slow retrieve. Good luck! May meet you out there tomorrow.

Welcome Cris! I do a lot of trout fishing from shore, and from my kayak on the local ponds. Nickerson state park has three ponds that hold good trout and they stock the ponds 2 to 3 times every year. Sheeps Pond, Goose pond and Bakers pond are my secondary spots. I use small Kastmaster, Colorado spoons in gold and #5 jointed floating Rapalas. Best of luck and touch base with me next summer if you want to fish in my boat on the bay.
No. I was not aware that there was a tagging program for striped bass. It would be fun to catch one and report its progress.

Awesome Kenny did ya eat them and what did he think?
They all went back into the ocean last night. π I rarely keep a striper. I have plenty of Black Sea bass, haddock and tog in the freezer.
Tonight I took a gentleman from the UK who had never caught a striper to Nauset Beach. Between us, we caught more than a dozen slots in the last hour of daylight. Purple SP minnow and 2 oz. White bucktail jigs. Landed 20+ fish.
