Hi I'm Dave new to the site, hoping to get some information on fishing that doesn't require a boat , Shore dock any suggestions grateful for information.
Welcome, Dave! You are in the right state for fishing. I spent a week ice fishing with family in the Brainerd area. My son has a boat to fish cats on the Mississippi at Aitkin, I caught my first pike at Crosby's Serpent Lake off the dock. I've been to several graduations of the DNR at Camp Ripley. St. Cloud is a beautiful part of the country. Get out there and enjoy!

Cricket Creek is one of my favorite haunts for crappie!
Welcome, Tunaponcho. Don't forget the photos when you get fish... I've had great times fishing your spots. Cricket creek for crappie is one of my favorites. Congratulations on being able to use some of the best fishing areas in the country!

Tried for a few hours this morning on Sagamore. Saw a few, no takers. Nice bunch of perch you got!

Congrats. My buddy told me you caught a nice one. I talked to you when I was leaving with my daughter. She caught the Palomino trout.
Oh, yes I remember. Thanks for the note!
Yes, you have to register for a recreation permit then get a visitors pass to be able to check in at the gate just west of Marshall field.
Last day to fish before the weather came in and the last fish of the day. 21" but I did not weigh it. He gave a great fight and thrilled the little boy and his family fishing next to me. Turned him back to possibly give someone else some fun, or maybe feed the beautiful bald eagles I saw flying around. I caught it on corn. I use a snelled hook suspended about a foot off the bottom, tight line, holding the pole with my finger hooked in the line. I was at Moon Lake, one of the ponds they stock at Ft. Riley. I wish I would have cleaned it off before the photo. He swam away good. Thanks for the thrill buddy.
