Hey Hey
Headed out now myself,
except just north of you.
What are you throwing down there?

Dadgummit! Sorry I missed this. Yesterday, I caught em on all 3 levels, topwater, crankbait (8-10') and worm, Texas style, natural colors. Good luck!

Glad you got out Mike. The earlier radar looked like you were gonna get slammed, but it looks like it's breaking up now. I guess you dodged another one. πŸ‘πŸ»

We did. Just started raining with a little thunder. Everyone around here was kinda concerned. Thanks again and g'night.

Hey Mike, batten down the hatches buddy. It looks like some rough weather is heading your way tonight. β›ˆοΈ

Know what? I've been watching the weather pretty much ever since Friday when this storm front started. Even with 100% chance of heavy thunderstorms, we've had zero bad weather and a total of maybe 2" of rain. Of course, I'm getting better at NOT busting my backside all day, every day and actually ran down for a couple of hours late this afternoon. Got wet a couple of times, but no lightning, little wind, 66Β° water. It's gonna be a busy week, so I've been cramming worm time the past few days. We consider this the ultimate blessing at this time in our lives, busy but completely happy. Count to Tay was 6 in the boat, missed probably a dozen, saw more awesome nature stuff. Thanks for the Stage family weather head's up. We'll watch out.

Your posts are sooo great. Thanks Mike. Ever so much

Big dang hug of gratitude and friendship, sir. Grabbed another opportunity to go fisheratin last night before this round of storms started. Super worn out from yard stuff, but fishin therapy is the best! I was blessed with some awesome nature stuff and several bassfolks. Have a blessed Sunday, my friend.

Thanks for the poem and the pictures.
You can keep that β€œAnaconda β€œ far away from me.

I'm glad you like my stuff. Snakes. I apparently have no fear of em. When I was probably 13, I remember swimming here in Roaring River at the "dam hole" with friends. A snake was swimming towards Wilda who started screaming, so I got all heroic and snatched it. Flung it away, but he did nip me for screwing up his journey. Felt like a wasp sting. That's all I recall about the bite, but I do remember Wilda bein very fond of me afterwards. Woohoo!

I do hope that you keep a record of all your poems. I can see a publisher being interested in them.
Enjoy the water every time you can. It makes me a little envious of you. πŸ₯΄

Y'know what? I don't keep track of em. I'm not a guy who'll say he's good at anything, but I s'pose I have a knack for pome'n. My bride has a stash of mushy ones from back in the day. She encourages me to do a blog or something that'd actually bring me a reward for what she calls talent. I wouldn't know how to do that, and since I'm opposed to actual social media like FB where are the nasty folks dump their spew, I'm kindy limited to hoping (privately) somebody would say "hey Mikey. Come pome for us!" Juan can hope, can't Juan? And by now ya gots to know my heart is full from living here. So full.

Excellent pome as usual Mike. All the wood in that pocket makes me drool 🀀. That's quite a size variety you reeled in. Glad you got out safely and avoided the lighting brother. Thanks for sharing. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Sometimes I hesitate to pome about my fisheratin time. My wife has said, jokingly, "that's the same fish!". I do enjoy showing her the vague differences in each of em, as unique as we folks above water. Your kind words are like fuel to my pome'n fingers.

I looked at the radar all loaded with storms,
The lightning was keepin me home.
My worm was sure twitchin,
For me to go fitchin,
Providing me fodder for pomes.
I told my bud down at the dock I was comin,
He told me that I'd lost my mind.
The lightning diminished,
I fished til I finished,
And left lots of bass behind.
With sprinkles that dimpled the flat, glassy lake,
I truly enjoyed every cast.
I landed a few,
A nice one or two,
And had a cool snake slither past.

If it’s just rain, I would go fishing.
Lightening is another thing. Holding a graphite rod in my hand would make me a lightening rod for sure.

I LOVE rain fishin. I've said it before but it's worth repeating my wife's remark - the fish are already wet!

The best bass I've caught when I was 15,
Was during a thunderstorm, know what I mean?
When rain's in the area, thundering low,
My worm starts its twitchin, ready to go.
A window is open right now in the sky,
I'm fightin the fish urge, I cannot deny.
I have common sense, tho, so go I will not,
But I bet you, Stagers, that fishin is hot!
