My siblings and I were raised up with cane poles in our hands. Still have our first Zebco rod and reels our Granddaddy gave us. We would bait our hooks with anything we could get on them: crickets, worms, baloney, sour cream and onion potato chips, and bread(and yes, fish love bread, lol!). We were ragged alot on that list, but we didn't care cause we were FISHING!!! We could be standing on the pier, or somewhere in the middle of our beloved Santee we had a blast, good clean fun! Not a care in the world just fishing! I miss those days!
