Fear not, oh Flyguy, for you shall never see me putting a Brownie in da pan! Great fighters, pound for pound, in the trout realm, but as an eating fish - YUK!

Good fishing and catching, the early bird gets the worm.
Maybe, but its the SECOND mouse that gets the cheese! hahaha
Mamie Lake (smallest of the Mammoth Lakes) is always a good bet! It's shallow and real clear -No place to hide by going deeper, since it's August and warmer. Thomas Bouyant will knock 'em dead!

No, its more like comparing Filet mignon to friggin hamburger!!! Trout being the filet, of course!! They are delicate and have a flavor like nothing you've ever eaten! Any fish that will live in any old hot water mud hole just aint making it!
Carp? WTF? Isn't it bad enough that our store shelves are stocked with 90% chinese products, but now we're also exalting the pollution of our waterways with asian trash fish? Cyprinus carpio is NOT indigenous to ANY North American body water! However, much to the detriment of our own, awesome native fish, the damn things were introduced over 100 years ago. What's wrong with you people? Lived in Maine for the '78 - '79 fall/winter season - You can have it too! Guess I'll consider the source...
Hey Andy! 9 lbs. Wow, I never caught anything like that before! My best was probably the 2 pound Apler's bow out of Silver lake, in the loop. Best TASTING bow I've ever had, to be sure!
Thanks! I hope I get a chance to visit my favorite spots as well!
I understand that two hatcheries that were forced to euthanize their entire trout populations are now back up and running, with a third one on the way. A little bit of good news in a world so full of crap! I've been stuck down here in the desert for the last 10 years, but would really love to hit the Eastern Sierras this coming Sring of 2022! Head waters of the Owens River, Mamoth and June Lakes, to be more specific - It's been way too long! Caught a couple trout and a smallie up at Lake Hemet a few years back.
