Hi everyone! I will be going to Mammoth Lakes, CA in the next few days. My son and I are into baits and lures and like to fish by boat and shore. My best fishing in the past has come from Convict Lake and creek, June Lake, Bridgeport Reservoir and Bridgeport Twin Lakes but it's been 4 years ago since I last fished the Eastern Sierras.

I appreciate any good fishing spots as long as it is not difficult to get to.

Thanks and good fishing to all!

Can't help you from the East coast but Welcome aboard. Hope you get some help soon. We have some good fishermen from the West coast

Mamie Lake (smallest of the Mammoth Lakes) is always a good bet! It's shallow and real clear -No place to hide by going deeper, since it's August and warmer. Thomas Bouyant will knock 'em dead!

Thanks Glenn. I never tried Mamie Lake but I know the area. Mamie Lake is near Horseshoe Lake in the Mammoth Lakes basin. I might give it a try. :)

Thanks Robert. I never fished Lake Crowley or the Owens River but i have been curious to try it. The only rivers and creeks I tried in the sierras are the East Walker River, Rush Creek, Convict Creek and Silver Lake creek. Each has their own characteristics/qualities.

Go up to Lake George first thing in the morning to grab a parking spot. Then proceed to the left and find a spot on the shoreline that is not canopied by trees. If you’re willing to walk further until you cross the creek that enters the lake, that shoreline holds fish. I would recommend a Carolina rig using Berkeley Power Worms or Mice Tails floated off the bottom. Additionally, I like to come up in the evening before it gets dark and toss Thomas Buoyants, Cripp Lures for a quick session. Good Luck . .

My friend just sent me pictures of him and his son with 2 large rainbows from Lower Twin Lake(Bridgeport). His was about 6 lbs and his son’s about 4lbs. They caught these fish and others on pink/ white micetails. Good luck and let us know how you fare.

My favorite lake! Convict Lake is a jewel! Beautiful mountains scenery! I love fishing there and I never got skunked - i always caught fish. It can get crowded at times because of the easy access but its worth it if you get there early in the morning or towards the evening.
