Decided to go to my favorite dock today despite the forecast of on and off rain. We, a friend of mine was there, got about a 90 minute break in the rain. He caught seven and I caught five. A combination of drum and white bass. We ran out of minnows.
My last catch was this guy. A largemouth, before the sky opened up and I got soaked. Definitely my best day fishing, even with the rain.
Sounds like a great day fishinā. Thatās a really nice bass, Greg!

Good Monday morning folks!
Looks like a decent day today. 57Ā° now and 75Ā° later with cloud cover, but no rain or storms.. the executive decision has been made. I'm playing hookie and going fishing for the day.
While it was raining yesterday, I managed to get about Ā½ of the flooring installed in our new living room. I finished up about 7pm last evening. One more long day and I should have it all down after I move things from one side to the other. Then I can concentrate on trim.

Into the Church
Three buildings in town were overrun by squirrelsāthe town hall, the hardware store, and the church. The town hall brought in some cats. But after they tore up all the files, the mayor got rid of the predators, and soon the squirrels were back.
The hardware store humanely trapped the squirrels and set them free outside town. But three days later, the squirrels climbed back in.
Only the church came up with an effective solution. They baptized the squirrels and made them members. Now they see them only on Christmas and Easter.
Have a great day folks!!

My theory has always been if it's worth worrying, then do something about it. If you can't DO anything , why worry. It won't help.
You got that right, Jimmy! š

Oh I remember the face and the smile too, but was never one to follow that character. Nor one for comic books of any character when I think about it. Dang book reports for school took up to much time in the summer and studies ate up time in the winter. Toss in every minute I could being outside kept me entertained beyond needing to read something for a laugh.
Worrying didn't kick in until later teens and as the adult years increased steadily, the worries came with more life lessons.
However, somewhere along the way a light came on and putting trust in the big guy was the mission at hand.

Good devotion for this Sunday morning. A way I look at worry is that when I spend time worrying about an issue in my life that I really can't do anything about, then what I'm doing is trying to play God, and worse I'm trying to control something I can't, and nothing good comes from that.
Thanks, Joel! Thatās a good point. Time is much better spent praying - does a whole lot more good.

Good morning crew! Another soggy morning... the boat was hooked up last night with intentions of heading out this morning but the weather has other ideas. It looks like I'd only get a couple hour window and then we're supposed to get storms. Argh....
If I stay home, it'll all go around us.. if I go, it'll come early!! Just this guy's luck. Since its hooked up, I just may play hookie tomorrow. The forecast is clear and my schedule is flexible.
I got most of my concrete floor grinding done yesterday. Maybe I'll dabble with some flooring today and see if I can make the Wifey happy??

Most of you are probably familiar with a fictional character named Alfred E. Newman. If not, his picture may refresh your memory.
(See below)
His signature line was always:
āWHAT, ME WORRY?
Iām not really sure how Alfred dealt with his worries, but according to medical science, worry in REAL people can cause any number of physical ailments, such as anxiety, blood pressure issues, weight loss, headaches, diarrhea, ulcers, constipation, fatigue, and even cancer! I actually believe that NOTHING GOOD can come from worrying.
Thatās probably why the Bible (Godās Word) teaches us NOT to worry, over and over again. It also tells us what to do, instead of worrying.
The clearest example of this is probably in the Apostle Paulās letter to the church in Philippi, where he says:
āDonāt worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience Godās peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.ā
āāPhilippiansā¬ ā4ā¬:ā6ā¬-ā7ā¬ āNLTā¬ā¬
Another example is in the Sermon on The Mount, where Jesus, Himself, told His followers:
āSo donāt worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Todayās trouble is enough for today..ā
āāMatthewā¬ ā6ā¬:ā34ā¬ āNLTā¬ā¬
The Psalmist, David, made this proclamation:
āThe Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.ā
āāPsalmsā¬ ā23ā¬:ā1ā¬ āNKJVā¬ā¬
About 650 years before Paul wrote to the Philippians (above), the Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, was saying basically the same thing.
What a confirmation of a 650-year-old prophetic message!
āFor I know the plans I have for you,ā says the Lord. āThey are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.ā
āāJeremiahā¬ ā29ā¬:ā11ā¬-ā13ā¬ āNLTā¬ā¬
I guess what Iām trying to say is, we can let God take all our worries and burdens - He wants to carry them for us, just like Jesus did with our sins, when He took all of them to the cross of Calvary for us. Why should we worry ourselves sick, when we really donāt have to, and it doesnāt make anything better anyway. Just give it to God!
I must confess - I am nowhere near worry-free yet, but I am sure working on it, with Godās help, and with the help of this 7-year-old message I watched on TV (TBN) Thursday, by Pastor Allen Jackson.
I hope it blesses you all as much as it has blessed me. šš»
