Yay, luv it. Can't find it around me.
After all I had happen up there the fire made it easy to leave. I waved good by to New York on my way home and have no plans to ever go back. Gotta lot of lakes around me here in Indiana going to start checking them all out.
Well the trip was cut short yesterday when had to evacuate the motel do to fire. I was lucky the fire started on opposite end of where I was staying. Luckily there was only three injuries and all were minor. However the Colony Motel in Jamestown was totaled. The room I was in was saved and allowed me to recover my personal items. I'm home now and will be looking for new place to fish for smallies and walleye.
Nope. Talked to Amish gentleman this morning and he said that with them pulling the lake level and killing the weeds has pushed the fish even deeper. There catching fish in thirty feet I'm just not set up to do that in my Ranger bass boat. This will be my last trip to Chatauqua Lake in the fall.
Finally had a nice walleye on and lost it at the boat. That was only bite all day.
No report today staying in watching football.
The old only thing I can find is perch. But when there 12 to 13 inches I'll take them. Good eating.
Every blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Caught 29 fish today all perch however some of them are jumbo ones. I'll have pics later.
Checked around and found that they are catching walleye out in the deeper water and some big fish are being caught. Smallmouth seems to have changed from fall to spring during the non keep season. Not giving up yet tomorrow will fish area where I first fished on the lake. Cross fingers I can find something there.
I drove all the way to New York to catch fish like that. Only the be skunked. Great job, beautiful fish.
It has come down to they removed the weeds and that has destroyed the bass and walleye fishing that was what I enjoyed. It was the cover that the fish used for safety and where the baitfish could hide. Yes there are fish but you have to fish deep. I'm trying the adapt but not having much luck.
Well today was beautiful day on the water. Not one single bite. Wind direction was not what weatherman called out kept me from fishing where I wanted l. May be tomorrow.
Today's report is an improvement. Still nothing to show although had big muskie on and it broke line. Had another nice fish on and all of sudden nothing. The hook actually broke. Did do my normal caught one perch.
Made it out today caught another perch. With north winds this lake shuts down. Good news is that starting to see fish ๐on the Garmin's. Now just need to figure out what bait they want.
Well won't be catching anything today! The old body decided to act up. Over did it yesterday. Be back on my feet tomorrow. Getting geared up today to move out into deeper water in hopes of finding feeding fish.
