Braid for spinning
Best knot for braid to monogram is the yucatan knot. Just download the animated knots app. It does cost a dollar but well worth it.

Which freshwater spinning reel?
What a coincidence I bought my first real when I was 8 years old and it is a Mitchell 300 I will use it as soon as I can find the right rod I like I am also 72 years old

St Croix rods any good??
Of all the rods I have, my st. Croixs are the best. Have never had a single problem with any of them. Lifetime warranty and made in the USA. I have Loomis Rods also, but no more.I looked for st. croix rods at bass pro. That was a joke. All they had was junk. Just my 2 cents worth.

The best and easiest knot for mono to braid is the yucatan knot. Just download animated knots app. It has every knot and them some.
