I live in SW WA (Vancouver), and was wondering if anyone could refer me to an outboard mechanic or if any of you on here have the skills, please let me know.

Here's my issue: from my throttle handle next to steering wheel, when I put it in forward, all good, neutral all good but reverse does not engage? Not sure if cable is too slacked or mechanism in throttle compartment is working when placed in reverse.

My son's going to be in the area of Eagle Lake in California in a couple of weeks. Fishing from the bank. Any suggestions to what he should be using and any area around the lake.

Hey everybody, Randy here. Living in Salem and looking for information about plunking for fall coho and the Willamette River. Not overabundant on expenses so looking for somewhere near Salem and techniques common for the area. Really enjoy the forum, appreciate everybody who shares information. Keep your lines tight and good luck to everybody.

Good luck waiting for silvers in Salem area. There's been about 600 over Bonneville dam. None up the Willamette over the falls. Go in and look for 7-Day Bonneville fish count and it'll give you the fish counts over your Willamette falls and
Bonneville. Lots of silver is coming up the river but it's going to be a while.

It's a great fishery. You can use bait or artificials. Both work and produce fish.

Thank you very much!

Stop into the Pueblo Sporting goods. Ask my cousin Keith the owner to let you learn to fly fish in his pond out at Boone. He used to have some beautiful big trout in it. Tell him I said it was okay! He would get a kick out of you doing that. David.

Anyone have favorite fly fishing spots or ones they don't like? I'm not trying to crowd in, but make my next trip enjoyable. I've only done fly fishing from lake shoes, but I am ready to try some streams. I have tried the Purgatoire entering Trinidad Lake during spring run off, but was way too fast for me. I have crotch high waders, but only used them once to retrieve my snagged beadhead fly at Marion Lake. Haha. My wife was laughing and taking pictures, hoping I would fall in. Glad to report that I stayed dry. I would appreciate some suggestions. I have a 20 foot trailer and I don't mind accessable boondocking spots.

In the late 50s I used to fish with my granddad he lived in Colorado springs. Arkansas River up by canyon City if I remember right. I got in trouble from him after he caught a rainbow that probably weighed close to 4lbs. He said take it to the car, and put it in the cooler. I did and I stood there on the road and was shown at everybody driving by. Soon there was three or four guys coming down fishing. 11 Mile canyon was also a great place to fish. I still miss fishing Colorado with him. 79 years old now and will never forget the memories!

I live in Vancouver, Washington about 10 miles south of Portland, Oregon, just across the Columbia River.

My preferred fishing is Tenkara - I have 10', 12', and 13.5' poles. I also fish for salmon and steelhead on our many rivers in WA and OR. The Pacific Coast is about 1.5 hours away, so I do some surf fishing and crabbing over there from time to time. I keep WA and OR licenses and tags, so have the flexibility to go where I hear the creatures are.

Also do some clamming and crawdad picking, stuff like that. Mostly, though, it's nice trout and some bass using the Tenkara rods.

Thanks for a great forum - I really enjoy reading about fishing in all parts of our great country.

Darin
