really you guys ,, who cares ??? i am in Montana and it really does not matter what the cost ,, and i am not even close to being what people consider wealthy,, figure the cost spread out over 12 months and the amount-of enjoyment that we get from hunting , fishing, hiking , etc.. pretty darn cheap activity i think!!
lots of jokes ,, seriously though , when you get bit , stung , scratched , whatever,,, preperation h or any cheap brand of that product just does what is advertised,, stops the burning, itching , pain and swelling. try it when you get a catfish barb in your pinky !!
go to curlew lake ,, FWP is trying to get rid of the perch,, really good size, and NO LIMIT !!
spend a couple days and catch enough to fill your freezer !
this is not HOGGING,, if they poison the lake all would be a waste ,, some folks I know went there for 2 days and caught over 300 very nice perch!

like fish dancer said it could be your scent,, I was fishing with my best friend after a hard days working,, I was getting g fish after fish and he was right beside me not getting a bite,, he asked me to bait up his hook and "pitch it out there" I did and less than 2 minutes later he caught the biggest fish of the day and continued to catch fish as long as I baited his hook !!
you can use cedar oil, it lasts a long time and mice and bugs won't go near it,
Don't think for a minute that snakes can not be aggressive,, maybe they had a bad day, got stepped on by a hooved critter or had a meal interrupted, they can and will attack, i have been around hundreds of rattlesnakes in my life, been bitten 3 times but of those 3 only one actually kept after me trying for another bite.

montana streams are so over crowded the fish and game is trying to get some new regulations in place for 2020,,of course if you happen to be buddies to one of the millionaires that come in from out of state and buy up all the water front MAYBE they will let you fish,, Montana was once called "the last best place" now it's called the last best place for out of state millionaires !! Idaho has some great fishing and millions of acres of public land.
thanks i think i will try again on Christmas day,, i just boiled it but i will try the broiling method if i can catch another one !!
very good ,, probably the best fresh water fish i have eaten,,,except for cold water trout caught in a high mountain lake cooked in foil with a little salt and bacon grease !!
fishing the missouri river up stream near great falls
it's a long shot but i want to try for Burbot in the missouri river in the great falls montana area and was wondering if anyone can give me a few hints on bait, set-ups, and approx. location of where to find them, i caught one this last summer that was just a tad over 33 inches and was really surprised on how good it was.
