Just got to get back on one of our favorite lakes privately owned by Georgia Pacific, a great day, the sun was out the wind was mild, water clear, bite was slow though after a year of closure. Looking to find another like I caught two years ago...
Lol, good catch thanks you are correct. My in-laws live in lakeview, good fishing out there too but, i meant Lakeside
Hi everyone not new but, have yet to introduce myself. My name is Dean and I live in Lincoln City, OR on the coast, not to far from Jeremy.
I recommend checking with a little area called Lakeview right on TenMile lake on the south coast between Coos Bay and Florence. Great bass lake for smallies and largemouth also has trout and salmon. There are quite a few lodging options in that area.
Sad to hear that area has taken such a beating with fires. Beautiful area and used to be great fishing. Spent a lot of time there every year in the past with my son. Fish plants were always a big part of our success but, they used to have a sizeable holdover population. My go to method given to me by the former owners of Big Rock Springs Resort on June Lake was trolling flies near the weed banks. Medium speed, olive matuka usually with a red head and a small split shot about 60ft behind the boat always produced. Early morning or just about the last hour at night. That area was always good for spinners as well. Good luck and hope it recovers.
Buzz bait, great for LM bass and others. Good habit to feel the weight of the fish on the line before you strike. Real easy to set too soon because of the explosive hits the bait attracts, makes you excited when they blow up the surface to attack it. SNAPPER
Surf fishing rig and the word is Acorn
Beautiful fish, Ive fished that area before too. Gorgeous country! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful brown trout! Thanks for the pic.
Me thinks you might have been a fish in another life. Lol! Or a world renowned fisherman thats filled his quota! But, it sounds like you have the right approach keep up chasing the sun and good luck breaking your slump this year. Maybe a lawn chair and go share a story or two with a kid!
Here in Oregon we call them mole crabs. Great for catching surf perch. You can catch them easily and they are a great bait provided by sea.
Mole crabs and Berkley sandworms work well up here in northerh oregon. There are even opportunities to catch striped surf perch in the mouths of the rivers in my area. Lots of fun to catch. Incoming tides are best.
Good luck! Go get em!
Thanks! Yeah of course the color scheme was so I could match the wifes new Jeep. Lol, got to have all the towing options possible and she loves to fish.
I built this one off of a harbor freight trailer I found for $150. Last photo is what I started with added one new hub, wood frame, cross members and new paint. Decking has spray on truck bed liner paint, the frame is exterior leftover house paint. I already had the j hooks for car mounting. All in about $300 including trailer. Craigslist is a good source for used trailers. Youtube has a bunch of videos on how to do a build out. Cant describe how much nicer it is to load and unload. Extra area underneath is for other cargo.
Good luck with your project.
Great catch. Sorry for your loss.Wishing we were able to get out up here in the Pacific Northwest. Most everywhere is coned off for any types of watercraft. We kayak fish regularly. The picture is from last year. Wishing all better times and tight lines!
