Great day at the pond

My company pond opened yesterday after a long wait. Took the family yesterday and we did ok. I went back after work today and man was it worth it. Caught 14 bass in 3 hours. Not bad considering it was cold and windy. Catch number 11 came as a shock. Measured at 20 inches. No scale so I have no idea what it weighed. Until today I'd never seen a fish that big in person that wasn't in a tank. Still can't believe I landed it. I should've started using the Ned rig sooner.

The Lord provides us with enough fish for our annual fish fry each year in this five acre 100 year old pond on the farm.

Our family farm pond in Milstadt Illinois. I’ve been in this family for 20 years. My first year, the mother-in-law said we needed enough for 32 people for The annual Easter fish fry—think you can do it? I laughed when they took me to the pond back in woods; told her she better Find a store that sold fish. By noon I had more than enough to feed the entire brood. Did not keep anything over three pounds as they were in the spawn. This lake continues to provide the same each year, only now I enlist a few other family members to help me catch and filet them. I have caught numerous fish from 5-8 lbs here over the years.
