Pier fishing setup
I fish the San Diego Piers, I use a heavy pole with 25 lb test on the bottom and I use a medium heavy pole with 15 lb test halfway up. (I always have a bucket and gaffe with me.)

Lake Murray near San Diego
Try lake Jennings , Santee lakes or even lake Poway & Miramar lake. Good Luck
