Thanks for the comments. Really looking forward to catching some trout. Have had poor luck in Michigan that time of year, thought going south would have a little more predictable weather. Looks like a beautiful spot.

I am right handed but buy left hand reel baitcasters. Also use my spinning rods that way. Cast with my right and reel with my left. Way more comfortable and natural for me!

Where about are you in the Buckeye State? Maybe we can hook up one day.

Tight lines

Hi J. I am in SW Ohio near Greenville.

I bought a baitcaster and teaching myself to use it. Got the spool tension set up now so I prevent bird nests. Like casting with it, but being right handed, I hate switching hands. I’ve tried casting left handed, but just not good at it. Thinking of getting a left hander. Any thoughts?

Heading to Watauga Lake in early May. Does anyone have any experience fishing there? Bringing a boat.

I bought a folding tongue too. Waiting to build a barn, so installed a folding tongue to fit in the garage with my wife’s car. A little scary cutting the trailer but turned out great.

I went there last year in May. Had our best luck on the north shore. Rented a boat and took it there. It can have some weeds, so bring some weed less lures.
Good luck

Taking my boat there. Expecting bass and panfish. Only 30 min drive. 1st time there. Thinking Friday morning. Mostly a no wake lake I believe. Looks to be about 4 miles long and narrow.

Funny thing was, the cheapest lures we used were most successful. Stop by Captain Chucks for bait and advice. They also have a 7$ map with topography and suggestions by month for different fish.
