I'm at a crossroads (Midlife Crisis). I'm MUCH more comfortable using a Spinning setup for bass. I see all the "Pros" almost exclusively using Baitcasters. When reeling and casting, Spinners seem much easier.

Why should I switch over to Baitcasters????? (Or should I???)

It may be best to use what you are most comfortable with, there are advantages and disadvantages to each. I use both at different times with different lures.

I love to fish! Catching is a bonus. I love being in the outdoors enjoying the creation of our God. I bank fish, I wade small streams, I fish from a kayak, and occasionally fish with a buddy who has a nice fishing boat. He’s my rant. Pick up after yourself I can’t believe how much trash people leave behind. I have started packing a trash bag to pick up the trash others leave behind. I just don’t get it. My rant is over. Thanks for putting up with me.

Believe me I understand! What ever goes out in my boat or my pack that I take in the woods, along a River or stream or on a trail comes back out with me along with whatever I find along the way. Unfortunately Many times it’s quite a lot.

Well, it’s that time of year... I’ll be hanging up my bass gear and switching into saltwater mode! My wife, daughter, dog and I are heading down to Baja Sur Mexico next month for a 6 week surfing and fishing adventure! My dog (Boxer) and I will be driving the entire Baja Peninsula in my 2014, Ford E150 flex fuel Econoline Van and my girls will fly down and meet me in San Jose del Cabo after I arrive. When I’m not surfing I’ll be fishing from shore for Snook, Snapper, Grouper, and Rooster Fish...
Well, it’s that time of year... I’ll be hanging up... (show quote)

Sounds like a great time!

I gotchya Greg. For future reference, it's often a good idea to "hit 'Quote Reply'"; like I did here, to prevent us getting confused. (It doesn't take MUCH, to confuse SOME of us.) {Speaking for myself}

Thanks! Good to know!!

Glad to be part of this group. Caught this 5.2lb Largemouth this week! Also caught this 3.4 lb and several 2+ lb bass at Lake Guntersville Alabama. Tough conditions but we had a ton of fun.
