Hey John, Welcome to the stage. I usually fish Ainger pier and the Venice Jetty. There is also the El Jobean pier off 776 and The Venice Pier at Sharky's. I have heard the beaches along Manasota Key can be productive also. Tight lines 🤙🏼

Heard back from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, FourchonLa and ripogenu were spot on, It is a Hogfish, Lachnolaimus maximus, with sub-adult coloration. Thanks for your responses. 🤙🏼
It's a consensus: Hogfish which is a species of wrasse. I caught it off the jetty in Venice Florida.
