Cut up into chunks, bet they would make terrific catfish bait.

Betts they can be a pain in some of our mountain streams when you are drifting bait for trout.

It’s kinda weird that I’ve never seen one till now, especially in that spot where I’ve fished regularly since my kids were little. Hmm.

Looks like a fall fish but I don't see the brown tints that they have here in New England. Fall fish by the way are the largest of the minnow family in North America. State record in New Hampshire is 17 inches so that is a big one.

Awesome! Thanks for that info!

Betts, if you're thinking about a catch and cook for the fallfish, I found this recipe in another forum and thought I'd share:
"I have been told that the best way to prepare them is: Preheat your oven to 350°. Place two fillets skin side down on a piece of hickory wood. Cover with onions, peppers and your favorite seasoning. Let it bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven, take fish off the wood and throw in the trash. Eat the wood and enjoy."

Hahahaha! I read up on them and saw that they are not tasty at all, so this is perfect! 😂

Good morning and Happy (rainy) Hump Day!

Sorry.. couldn't find a pic of a wet camel... but on the bright side, it is Oreo Cookie day!!

It's 53° and looks like an all day rain with a high of 61°. Rain is to continue through the night.

I'll keep dry for the most part today. I'll be inside hooking up water to an out building that was put up last fall.

Little Johnny was sitting in Sunday school on Easter
The Sunday school teacher said "Today is all about the resurrection, does anyone know what that is?"

Little Johnny raises his hand....

"I do! And if it lasts more than 4 hours you're supposed to call a doctor!"

🤣😳😆

Have a great day !!
Good morning and Happy (rainy) Hump Day! br br S... (show quote)

Good morning, everybody. Tried to catch some fish yesterday but they just swam past my bait every time, no matter what I was throwing. I’m glad there wasn’t anyone around to hear me pleading with them, cursing them out, etc. Bob, I hope you find some relief, soon. Wishing you all a fine Wednesday.

Thanks Betts. The Juice had hers done 2 years ago and said he could have numbed it a little better. Not so much pain wise, but seemed like more pressure ( whatever that means ) than when she had her other eye done.

I like the Valium reference. Wonder if I could pre med myself.

Maybe you could kickstart the Valium with Butch’s breakfast special. 😅

Decided to try out my new rod in the mud hole in my RV Park. Used 6'6" medium OT(Ozark Trail) rod w/OT 3000 spinning reel spooled w/12lb Big Game line. Used #4 treble w/Magic Bait "King Kat" chicken blood fished weightless 18" under a bobber. Only my 2nd cast.

Impressive performance for a $30 combo rig, especially the drag. Very smooth and steady. Really good rig for the $.

Wow, that’s some catch!

Betts I've noticed that I get glare since my eye surgery also. I just wear sunglasses more. My eyes were always very sensitive, and the cataracts actually block some some light from coming through. No cataract, no blockage, normal light passage.

Good morning to all. Cloudy this morning with 59* and a high of 63. Rain coming in later. This was originally a fishing day, but J has to work. Probably end up in the garden planting o eas if they have sprouted. Have a nice day.

Sunglassses do help!

Hey Doug I tried to send you a video but couldn’t get it to load. Went to the pond here on the farm yesterday and the peepers were singing in all their glory. Music to the ears.

I love that sound so much!!

Dang Betts sorry to hear that. I am facing having that done this year and thought the procedure is going to be bad enough. Best of luck to you in getting it all straighten out.

Good morning Doug and the morning crew. Closes thing to pound cake here are pancakes for breakfast.

Plan B will have to do.

Thanks, Bob. The procedure was nothing - easy, painless and not at all stressful (the Valium might’ve helped with that last part, lol). Recovery was easy, too. For me, I was horribly nearsighted with high astigmatism, so that might be why it’s been hard. I’m going to try having new, digital eyeglass lenses made with a wider field of vision. That might help.
