Barracuda and sharks - too many teeth and I don't eat them.
I love eating most skin fish. I use the Magic all-purpose Fish scaler (Made in the USA) purchased over 20 years ago. Probably cost $9. I scale my fish outdoors and wash the scales off the patio into the drainage ditch before the flys attack.

Looks like some type of snapper🤔
I agree. Without seeing the tail fin and the whole side of the fish makes it harder to identify. My guess based on my knowledge of this fishing area, my book and wall posters seems to point me to a juvenile Mutton Snapper just shy of May spawning season here in Florida. Maybe this snapper has or doesn't have a button (distinct black dot) near the dorsal upper side of it's body. Some do and some don't.
My fingerless gloves are always wet when handling fish but I use them mostly to protect my hands from the sun.
Hello all, I fish deep sea and backcountry south Florida up to Jupiter, ten miles into the Wildness Waterway in the Everglades and the Florida Keys. I have two small boats and scuba dive, unfortunately, have little time to do what I love most due to my real work. Winds have been a big problem here lately for smaller boats. Mother nature prefers retired people. Not too much into fishing for Bass (although one jumped on my line recently), and have yet to fly fish.
