Get a piece of non-wood plank and cut it to fit across the foot ridges so you have a continuous foot rest. Works great on my Lifetime.

The wire hooks are more flexible to pull out of snags

Ben:

I've yakked that lake a few times. Mostly 3 feet deep. Lotsa small bass and larger panfish. Saugeye few and far between. Mostly a crappie lake but you gotta know where to look for them. Good Luck.

Fish swallow a minnow head first so the spines fold back. So the hook point should be up and the shank should be at an angle flat with the line to set the hook.

To me, finesse fishing involves 4-6 pound test line to level the playing field.

Paid two-thirds up front?? Sounds suspicious to me. You removed two-thirds of the dealer’s motivation when you did that. I ordered an Old Town PDL 120 last December from Austin Canoe and Kayak without sending any money. No kayak by April so I canceled, went on EBay and found one in stock from a small dealer in East Jesus, Pennsylvania who couldn’t sell it because he wouldn’t ship it. I drove seven hours each way to snag it. Well worth the effort. Look for a used yak.

Malone makes a great set of racks with suction cups and cradles. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Inexpensive, too.

Old Town Sportsman PDL 12 foot Salty. Under $2,000. Pedal drive works great and has five year warranty.

Install the transducer through one of the scupper holes. Transducer can be attached to a short piece of a threaded plunger handle with the right accessory and secured on top with a rubber gasket

I bought an Old Town pedal for the five year warranty on the pedal drive. Propeller-driven. Pedal drives are half the total cost of the yak so put your money where it counts.

My inflatable paddle board has a thick plastic skin, is rigid and floats with a 230 pound cargo in half foot of water. Only weighs forty pounds. I use it because I fish a shallow river floating downstream. My wife picks me up and I throw it ( deflated and rolled up) in the trunk of her car. Although I fish onboard, I mostly use it to take me to favorite wading spots on the river.

I have an Old Town PDL. Its very easy to peddle and get up to 4mph as long as there is no fishing line or weeds wrapped up behind the propeller. It dosen't take much.

I have the 12 foot OldTown PDL and it works great. Easy pedaling. I wish they made a prop with a steeper pitch for more speed, though
