Went out with Aunt Linda, my sister, and brother in law for a few hours in some windy conditions but had success. Hit 2 spots, 3 largemouth bass, 2 bluegill then off for tge 10 minute run to THE spot. Arrived after passing a partially sunken boat, looking at Anchor High Marina’s replacement docks and the still closed Rockland Park (both took a direct tornado hit Dec. 8th 23). At THE spot and no bites…30 minutes nothing….I resort to the fish call…I’d recorded Nana doing her “fishy fishy call”…5 minutes later we double up on cats!! lol Aunt Linda 7lb’er and my 10lb8oz. then Bill’s 9lb15oz. Goes quiet, sister breaks out the call again and fish on lol 4 lb. All on the catfish board! Ended with 5 cats, 2 bluegill at THE spot. Great day with pics! Enjoy!!

I had my grandson Tyler meet me at SanV this morning to do a little catching. As we are leaving the dock, he says "Papa" we should have a bet on first, biggest and most..........you are on!!! Ten minutes into our first stop, I announce that you just lost the first bet. I told him our goal for the day was 20 fish. Couple of minutes later I land a nice 2.6 and let him know that he is down on all three bets and that he had better get going. He then lands the next three, and I am thinking maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. I then go up 4-3 in the next half hour, and he says maybe we should make a move. Alrightee, that we shall do lad. We get to our next stop, and first cast, he gets one, next cast, another, then another. Not suppose to be going this way. He lets me know that I am now down 6-4. Hmmm, better get going old man! I get the next three and take a commanding 7-6 lead. A pelican shows up and starts following us everywhere we go, and proceeds to start trying to get our baits right next to the boat. Stayed with us for quite awhile, was hoping to get one and feed him just to get him away. He finally leaves and we get back to catching. Over the next hour the score goes to 7-7. 8-8, 9-9 and now we are both anxiously trying to get #10 first. He hooks up with a nice fish (about 3lb) and it jumps about 6 ft from the boat and spits the hook, bummer for him, lol! A minute later, I land #10. Now we just need one more for our 20. I manage two more, and it is getting close to leaving time. He says he really want to catch his 10th, so I tell we will head toward the dock and make one stop near there so he can try for that fish. On his first cast , you guessed it, he hooks up and lands a nice 2+ and we head for the docks. I am also in the process of teaching him how to tow the boat and put it in and out of the lake. He did his first successful backing the trailer into the water and hooking the boat up. Proud Papa here!!! I know the story is a little lengthy, but we don't get many days like this so decided to share. Enjoy the pics!

Got to Tahoe late afternoon and found three snow patches still around the house.
One on the front yard, one to the side of the garage and one in back of the garage in the back yard.
Here it is nearly the 1st of May and I still have snow around my house.
I really do like to fill a small cooler with it and keep a couple of beers, worms and a sandwich when I go out river fishin. Then when I catch trout, I usually gut them and then ice them down while I'm out.
Goin to make a specific point to get out on the rivers this week and catch some trout while I'm here this week.

So I took my 10 year old and his friend out on the Feather today. Around 7:30a my son’s friend lands a nice 20” keeper after a HELLUVA fight for that size fish! I hook it to the last rung of my stringer and think to myself that it just doesn’t seem secure so I hook it to the next rung up. Mind you these are the 2 rungs I use the most. After about 15 minutes my son says (jokingly) “wouldn’t it be funny if the fish got off?”……NO! As he says it his friend looks down and says, “where’s the fish?” The sucker got off! 😂 it was disappointing but we all had a good laugh about it. My son caught a nice 18 incher and I told him it would’ve been dinner last year but not this year. All in all it was a great morning. I got the boys into some fish and we got to bond like men. Can’t wait for the next trip.

I finally got some lines wet up here in the Eastern Sierras for the Trout Opener. We (my BFF Christy, Carlos and Gen) decided to hit Gull Lake in the June Lake Loop of lakes. My friends from Idaho (Carlos and Gen) who owns and runs Character Lures (trout, salmon and kokanee gear for the GNW) got us a pontoon boat to fish from. It started out cold (high 20s) but warmed up as the sun came over the peaks. It is so beautiful up there! The bite started out HOT as we were getting double and triple hook-ups! It seemed the hot color for the day was orange, so we were using Character Lure Spoons and lures with any orange in it. We must have caught and released over 60 trout (rainbow) for the day and kept 6 trout that were over 2lbs.

I finally got to fish my home lake of Bridgeport Reservoir this morning after I fished Gull Lake yesterday for the Trout Opener. I ended up catching and releasing 20 rainbow trout this morning with a 5lb kicker, which I kept! It was a beautiful day in the morning. Not as cold as the high 20s we had at Gull Lake yesterday! LOL! All of my fish were caught on Character Lure spoons which I used at Gull Lake too.
After cleaning and filleting the trout, I ended up giving them to co-workers at the RV camp I work at in Bridgeport (Paradise Shores RV Camp). One of the ladies that I work with said she will make ceviche with the trout I gave her!!! Awesome! She will bring some over when it is ready :-) All in all, another awesome day!

Well after we got back from dinner with our wife’s, Dan got it in his head we should go fishing… “Dan, it’s 7:30, sunsets in 1/2 hour” and I didn’t bring any rods, baits, nothing. OK let’s go, what the heck, if you insist and won’t stop talking about going… 1st fish in less than 5 minutes, 2 more on way in. Got back to the dock at 8:15 PM Pixs of fish and beautiful Lake Norman North Carolina at sunset.

Hello stagers, still alive and fishing,I understand some are asking about the Meet N Greet well there is not as much to speak of this year as there was last year, there was basically zero interest in the T-shirt, sales or the decal sales, which the profits would go towards the bass pro card I was planning on raffling off,but with no T-shirt sales, that means no profits, that means no excess money to buy bass pro shop with, so other than just the camping and fishing that is basically all that is going on as far as a discussion of it, if you have any questions, please send me a message and I will do everything I can answer it, everything is still a go,but like I said, there’s just less to talk about than last year, we are still fishing every weekend and during the week, my playground as of lately, with the fish spawning,is River Front Park, in this particular post, I threw in the pictures of the fish I have caught in the past 3 fishing outings at River Front Park, Matt is still killing it as usual and I am still trying to catch up, lol, hope everybody is having good fishing outings and I hope everybody is doing well, if you have questions about the meet and greet, please hit me up otherwise I am looking forward to seeing everybody in Clearlake🎣

Fishing in Lake Havasu has been good not great as far as large mouth bass fishing goes but it is starting to warm up water temperature wise so it should get better in the next few weeks.
Last Saturday - Sunday I picked up nice three and a half - 4 lb Largemouths drifting with the Yum Dinger Cranberry worm. I had it rigged wacky with no weight and today I decided to go with a 3/8 oz drop shot so we'll see how it goes for this weekend.
It's supposed to be 85 to 90° the next few days with little wind so looking forward to great time in my kayak

Well everybody, just wanted to give a short update on Mom.
I've been here for 8 days and Mom is still holdin up nicely.
We took her out to some friends house for dinner last night. Had brisket and BBQ sausages and all the fixins to go with it. It was amazin how much she ate. She even had a good lunch at the home yesterday as well.
I'll be leavin Saturday afternoon to get back to California, and up to Tahoe. I truly hope Mom doesn't go downhill again after I leave because my sister can't get up there to visit nearly as often. My BIL isn't doin that good and she has to take alot more care of him than she use to.
Just wanted to thank you all for all the prayers and well wishes for her. I've told her about them and read the pome to her and it really lifts her spirits. All I can say is that y'all are a really special group of individuals and I really appreciate all the love and concern that y'all exhibit every day towards each other. I'm really blessed to be a part of this site. Thanks so much. Steve.
