Grew up in VB, Find the bait you'll get the fish. I imagine waters still cool so I'd try the skinny warmer waters. Linkhorn bay has held the big trout or the oyster bars for the reds. Good luck.

Hogfish

Hogfish ball jigs with live shrimp on the bottom, min. 3ft. 30 - 50 lb leaders since groupers and snappers swim the same waters 50+ ft.of water right now in the gulf off Clearwater for us. Knocker rigs work as well. Good luck. Plenty on you tube as well.
