Where to fish in the Lake Pontchartrain Basin.
I’ve been fishing trout and redfish for years. I lost my favorite rod and reel over board. My mistake. All I want is a little help to try to replace the rod and reel that I got so used to relying on. I’m not asking an empty question, I would like your input
I’m in the market for a good bait casting rod for Speckled Trout and Redfish. Does any have suggestions. Length & action, your help is appreciated

We plan to use live bait and artificial. I’ll be glad to post our catch. Fishing is fun, catching them is a bonus.
Going back to Toledo Bend around the beginning of August. I’ve learned that searching is the only way to find Crappie so how about the Catfish or Bass. How’s the fishing for them at this time of the year?
Where can anyone purchase reliable freshwater fishing maps. I can’t even find a good topographic map. I’m interested in Southeastern Louisiana.
Hi Whitey, the transom is still in place. We were able to tighten the rivets in the transom and we found the live well pump line leaking. So we didn’t take on too much water the last time out. We’re going back to Toledo Bend later this year, we’ll know more after that trip. I do believe the rivets under the false bottom on the boat leak. That’s going to be the next test.
Go to fishing hut or camp. Talk to some of the ole timers. Their the best a guess work for what your fishing for.
Has anyone had any success in finding these baits at normal cost. All I’ve gotten is BS from the vendors on the net. I get the same response here at home.

Yea, buddy. But cold to me is 40 degrees. To you 40 is probably a breeze. I’m in Southeast Louisiana, people here can’t drive in the rain much less in snow!!
