Gmorariu! That is truly a PIG. I want to thank everyone for their input. It has helped me confirm that I’m on the right track!! Really great suggestions!!!Good fishing y’all
It’s 8:30, you just drove up to a secondary creek on Lake Fork. Oh I don’t know, let’s say it’s Glade creek. It’s pre-spawn conditions. You see the perfect spot. Do you go conventional with that blue black jig and trailer or do you throw that new bluegill swimbait U2 Mattlures. Or...... do you T-rig that 10” power worm. Or...... Neko a power crawdad. So many choices...It’s awesome hearing everybody’s thoughts!!
Top water, weed less frogs and 10” snakes.
Check out you tube: Palomar, trilene and blood knot. These should get you through most applications.
In some aspects I certainly agree with you. I have gone after sharks, spear fished sheep head hiked for miles to fly fish. If you’re really interested in the why look no further than the variety of tackle in bass fishing. This tells the story behind the sport. Bass behavior and seasonal fluctuations in feeding patterns makes for great sport.
I have come close to braking a few but luckily phenix uses Fuji and it’s good stuff.
I will have to check that out. I’m in the process of replacing all my rods and reels. It’s a long story but in a nut shell I have 5k in rods and reels both fresh /salt in a container in Philippines. I can’t go back either, at least for now. Anyways I have been snobby only buying shimano reels an Phenix rods. Which I have felt both to be the best but I don’t have the same connection I used to nor do I want to spend as much as I have been. I have seen some good deals on Abu Garcia and Lews but wasn’t sure about their durability. Next deal on one those reels I give a try. Thanks for the recommendations.
How do you like that Lees? I have heard good things
Holy crap... you killed it
Those going out of business sales, kill me to but so much fun!
Hey Grizzly have ever 20 braid on bait caster? I just got a Shimano SLX150 I was planning on using 20lb braid with 12 mono topshot or leader. I have heard it binds up easy. I’m used to 50 lb on my curado, you think I should return before I use it?
I used to think it was cheaper too but lately my tackle warehouse bill has been outrageous. I’m like a kid in a candy store on that site.
I agree with Grizzly. To add to that I would say it also depends on size of bait you’re rigging. I think you should be fine with Gamagatsu ewg. I also think the lighter the rig the easier it is for the bass to suck up. So much to consider it’s turning into my golf swing.
