I fish Lake Silverwood 35-40 tines a year. $10 to lUnch, $10 to park. I buy an annual pass for $225. Use to cost around $100 for seniors, but our wonderful state officials thought they needed more revenue so they ended the discount. So I fish for about $6 a day. However my favorite place is Lake Havasu. Free launching at Takeoff Point near the Dam. Also, u can launch at the state parks if u r camping there up and down the lake. What I like most is 24/7 fishing with no rangers getting in your face. Both small mouth and large mouth.

I fish Lake Silverwood once a week. $10 to launch, 10 to park. I get the annual pass for $225 and fish 40 times a year. The pass is good for about 7 state park lakes. But my favorite is lake havasu. Free launching snd parking at the launch ramp near the dam. Fish 24/7.

Yes several years ago I was cleaning a couple if fish I caught at Diamond Valley Lake. What I found in one fishes stomach was both alarming and gross. I found about 20 plastic worms. Most were Yamamoto’s Seinco plastic worm, which is a large cigar shaped worm! They were almost white from being in the stomach for some time! Nothing in the other fish. I have no idea why this one fish went crazy. Go figure!

Great story! My story is also true, but not that believable! On my yacht (small) in the Oceanside harbor years ago, i baited a very large roller pole with a 10/0 Penn reel with a small mackerel, set the clicker and waited. Suddenly the reel started to buzz! Grabbed the pole, set the hook and the fish headed out between the docks. I had a 2 man life raft in the water at the stern of the boat. Realizing I could not hold the fish i jumped out of the boat into the raft, somehow kept my balance and remained standing. The monster began to tow me into the main channel of the harbor leaving a small wake behind us. People in the moored boats were applauding and yelling encouragement. Just before exiting the harbor, whatever it was wrapped the 120 lb braided nylon line around a piling and broke off! I was prepared to stay with it out into the open ocean but was spared the possible disaster. I believe the monster was a large Manta-ray or shark.

Yeah! Me too. I fish for large and small mouth bass almost exclusively. Im 82 and been fishing from childhood. Live near Lake Silverwood. Have an annual pass! However, hernia surgery and a bout with Covid I didn't launch my bass boat for 3 months until 4 days ago. Not a bite. Maybe I have lost my touch! Going to Lake Havasu in a few weeks… that should be good!

Mr Ed

Yes! Probably 10-12 years ago i was cleaning a bass caught out of Diamond Valley Res. The fish had a ball considerably larger than a softball of mostly 5” Senko’s. Mostly bleached white. I was amazed. I figure there r crazy people so why not crazy fish! And why just Senkos?
Call me suspicious, but we didn't eat that fish!!!

Im Ed Adams from Hesperia, Ca.

I fished the So Cal coastline for years and worked commercially for a while. Got tired of watching the weather, surviving storms and the increasing cost of safe boats and quality equipment, so changed to fresh water fishing in 1986. I have worn out three bass boats since that time. Lake Casitas, Silverwood and my favorite, Lake Havasu.

Planning trips to Lake Havasu in March, April and November! Smallmouth in March an both large and smallmouth in April and November.

Tight lines...Ed
