I had to send this to a "wounded Warrior", marine friend of mine.
I'm sure he'll have some reply about the Navy.
We kid each other but always brothers
I had my first shot last week. A sore arm for a few days and a little nausea for two days with muscle aches. Feel great now. My nurse daughter in law tells me the nausea lets you know your body is building antibodies.
Ken Curtis was Festus on gunsmoke
Thanks from a "Nam Vet"
I don't say much on this blog, mostly read but couldn't let this pass without comment.
Everyone familiar with the Vietnam war history knows the US military didn't lost the war, the press lost it for us.
Not only did they lose the war for us, they turn all civilians against all that served.
When I returned from the "war" to civilian life I couldn't even get a job because of the bias.
I operated and repaired state of the art electronic equipment but couldn't get a job wiring a water heater that I applied for. (Not qualified was the reasoning)
I am proud I served and wouldn't change my decision to serve if given the choice.
The plus was Uncle Sam put me through college and I've had a successful engineering career, now retired and have plenty of time to fish and golf.
Raised in a blue collar family, I was the only one of 10 children to get a college degree.
I owe that to the military training and the veteran benefits I received.
This is more I've said about the subject in 50 years, just saying
Thanks again for your support after all these years
Just a heads up, the press is still not "Free", it has a bias and usually left of center.
